I am now convinced that this is bug 50784 If I change the client timeout on the CUPS server the amount of time it takes before LO stops printing exactly matches. In the end I have made my timeout 5400 which is 90 mins which since we are a school is OK. It's a bit of a nasty hack but it seems to work. I think I saw this once on my mac when it went to sleep, powered the wireless down and when it woke up the printers were gone in LO. Can't be sure as it was a while ago. Just something to try as I had to do this once to print something. Does writer complete as if it is printing or hang.
