If you want regular updates for CVE fixes for the OS, yes, much better
using centos stream hosts.

Hello Sandro,

it's GREAT that oVirt still live and under development, because VMware
replacement is needed with similar functionality.

[ovirt-users] Re: [ANN] oVirt 4.5.5 is now generally available

2023-12-07 Thread Jiří Sléžka via Users

Hello,

I'll reply mysef

there is no package like selinux-policy-base, just selinux-policy and
requested version is in CentOS Stream BaseOS repository.

As I have migrated from CentOS8 to Rocky Linux 8 on hosted engine vm
earlier I just added this new repo just for selinux-policy* packages as
workaround

nano /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Stream-Base.repo

[cs8-base]
name=CentOS Stream $releasever - Base
baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/8-stream/BaseOS/x86_64/os
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1
gpgkey=https://www.centos.org/keys/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-Official
includepkgs=
 selinux-policy*

Then I was able upgrade to 4.5.5 (4.5.6-0.master) without problems.

I'm a little concerned about mixture of packages from Rocky Linux and
CentOS Stream but it looks like everything is working.

Cheers,

Jiri

2023-12-05 Thread Kapetanakis Giannis
Thanks for the update.

Already updated 2 engine setups without any issue.

What about master snapshot repositories you propose? Will these work on EL8
compatible distros like Rocky8 or do we have to switch to Centos-Stream?
Does this stand for both engine and hosts?

https://ovirt.org/develop/dev-process/install-nightly-snapshot.html says only
about Stream.

Thanks,

Giannis
