Stanley did that tyre fit without modifying anything on the swingarm or the
placement of the axle washers?

Hi guys,
While polishing up my mostly stock, '85 Max for Biketoberfest, I discovered
that the rubber bumpers on the top of the rear shocks have turned into
rubber powder! (and fell off the shocks upon pressure!)
I'm assuming they're there to prevent the shock piston from bottoming out
internally,
Hello all,
To make a long story short, I went racing this last weekend, for the
first time since I got my Nitrous system fully operational. I found that by
the end of the day, I couldn't keep the tire from spinning while heading
down the track. There were even times when the front wheel
Hey Chris,
I think that your best bet would be to find some kind soul on the list who's
replaced their rears with Works shocks and see if they'll give you a
humanitarian discount on the stock shocks they've removed OR call Hacksaw

Don, you should get upto 6" rim in the stock swingarm, 5.5" to be on the
safe side. Don't know about the wheelie bars, probably well worth checking
out a few "drag" sites lists.. Careful with the driveshaft - "rumour" has
it that SOME (!) flex is built into the design to reduce the 'torque
Forgot to mention, John Furbur (RMS) s doing alternative shafts (but he's in
Oz right now...)

Don, better get ready to buy a bunch of driveshafts. With a bar and
tire, a stock max can twist one. How's the swingarm doing?

Schwinn bought up and produced Excelsior-Henderson motor cycles but stopped
production some time during the Great Depression, 1930? I believe the
Schwinn company was sold a few years back.

It a sensation you don't forget, similiar to a friends 1150E turbo I
rode, 9:15@157. I bettered his 60 ft., but hit 3rd and the front came up
about 18". Stupid me I didn't back off, I liked it, and only bettered
his time a tenth. Stock driveshaft? I've seen them pop with a stock
motor and a bar
13" is stock length, so 1/2" won't be a problem.

I notice this when the bike is cold: kind of a short mechanical "clacking"
noise from under the top cover when I'm just starting out for a few blocks
only, then it's gone. What is it? Sorry if it's obvious; new Max owner!!!
thanx!
