Re: [vchkpw] maildrop with bounce-no-mailbox

2004-07-16 Thread Justin Heesemann

more thoughts..
the reason why maildrop exits 75 is the sigpipe it receives, because
vdelivermail exits 100 without reading the pipe. so a hack would be to
always read the input, even if the user does not exist. i might prepare
a patch for this on the weekend.

you could test this right now by changing your to maildropfilter line
to something like:
VPOP=| /var/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' bounce-no-mailbox
to | /usr/bin/tee /dev/null 2/dev/null $VPOP

hm.. i'm going to test this over the weekend instead of a patch..

depends on how you run qmail. If you run it as you should with
tcpserver and daemontools, you can just have it in your inittab and it
will automatically run as a service.

[vchkpw] Find an educational training center for qmail...

2004-07-16 Thread OUEDRAOGO BOUKARY
Dear list,

I have installed qmail, vpopmail, vqadmin, qmailadmin and sqwebmail on two
servers of our backbone. I'm managing these servers which run under sun
solaris 9. But, i'm not suffisantly trained to manage them very well. So,
i'm looking for an educational training center to increase my experience.
I want to know if INTER7 can provide me this training? If yes, reply me as
soon as it possible by giving me a contact email and phone number.
Thanks.

1) I think you've just made more than a few people upset by not looking on the inter7

You will find this paragraph on page 2, by following the support link.

I don't know why it isn't listed. The guy that maintains it even updates all the
pkgs just about as soon as they come out. I emailed him after one install and he
emailed me back, so he is paying attention if you have problems. Also, qmail
does rock!

[vchkpw] vpopmail + courier compile problems

2004-07-16 Thread Ewan Bain
I have installed vpopmail + MySQL and it works well. I'm now trying to get
Courier to work but the compile fails with.

Compiling authvchkpw.c
In file included from authvchkpw.c:20:
vpopmail_config.h:1:29: /include/config.h: No such file or directory
authvchkpw.c: In function `auth_vchkpw_changepass':
authvchkpw.c:167: warning: passing arg 1 of `parse_email' discards qualifiers
from pointer target type
authvchkpw.c:199: warning: passing arg 3 of `vpasswd' discards qualifiers from
pointer target type
make[2]: *** [authvchkpw.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/cp/misc/src/courier-imap-3.0.3/authlib'
make[1]: *** [install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/cp/misc/src/courier-imap-3.0.3/authlib'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

I've searched around on google and this list but have not found an answer that
fixes the problem.

I'm using vpopmail version 5.4.1 with the home dir /cp/apps/vpopmail. it runs
as the user cp and group cp.

I'm trying to compile Courier-IMAP version 3.0.3 with the following :
./configure \
--prefix=/cp/apps \
--without-authpam \
--without-authldap \
--without-authpwd \
--without-authmysql \
--without-authpgsql \
--without-authshadow \
--without-authuserdb \
--without-authcustom \
--without-authcram \
--without-authdaemon \
--with-authvchkpw \
--with-ssl \
--with-trashquota

I have tried to compile both as root and as cp(the vpopmail user). I set the
following as configure was looking for them.
/etc/lib_deps = '-L/cp/apps/vpopmail/lib -lvpopmail'
/etc/inc_deps = '-I/cp/apps/vpopmail/include/' (with and without the
trailing /)

I have also tried :
export LDFLAGS='-L/cp/apps/vpopmail/lib'
export CPPFLAGS='-I/cp/apps/vpopmail/include'

All the above produce exactly the same error.

I'm also not sure why it is looking for /include/config.h as I can not find a
reference to it in vpopmail_config.h (apart from the fact that it's the same
as the config.h file in the same folder).

I have spent all day trying to get this to work and I'm not sure what else to
try (it's probably something really simple). If anyone can help, that would
be great.

Thanks,
Ewan

[vchkpw] mysql dir_control table

2004-07-16 Thread Dave Goodrich
Hello the list.

We ahve been using vpopmail for over a year with no problems. We recently
move to using mysql for auth and I am seeing a strange side effect. New
users are no longer being created in the directory split but are all going
to the domain root. We have one domain with 4557 users and since
converting to mysql the last 177 users have been created in the domain
root.

I first thought I had compiled somthing incorrectly but reviewing it
doesn't seem so. I notice that the dir-control table was not updating when
new users were added.

In fact the largest domain (4558 users) showed a user count of 241378956!
and never changed. I manually updated the field and now the count is
correct and raises and lowers as users are added and deleted.

However new users are still going into the domain root. I've looked
through the archive and googled several times with no answers.

What can I post to help decipher this issue, or what can I read?

Thanks,

DAve
