dynamic IP to the tcp.smtp then it allows to me send mail
through my server. I have verified that my IP is getting written into
the open-smtp file every time i log in via pop3 to the new IP / time
stamp. So, from what I can tell my open-smtp and tcp.smtp are not
being joined together. Anyone
I'm having a problem with open-smtp and hoping someone can help.
I'm using vpopmail 5.0, and configured it as follows:
--enable-tcpserver-file=/usr/local/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp
--enable-roaming-users=y --enable-logging=v
This was an upgrade from 4.10.18.
Now correct me if I' wrong but,
vpopmail's config looks for tcp.smtp files in a file
places, like /etc
I'd suggest removing any tcp.smtp file you have on the system
except for the one in ~vpopmail/etc
Then configure again without the --enable-tcpserver-file option

well guys i have bee having alot of problems getting qmail to relay, now i
have noticed that everytime i try to send email, i see the ip on the
open-smtp file, but it still does not work, now what is the open-smtp file?
and how does it relate to the tcp.smtp? I just have not been able to
once again thanks Bill...
i looked at the timestamp and although the open-smtp does update everytime i
check mail, the tcp.smtp and the tcp.smtp.cdb do not...
all 3 files open-smtp, tcp.smtp, and tcp.smtp.cdb are owned by usur root
group root...
and this is my smtp run script:
#!/bin/sh
Hi guys, I have configured vpopmail to allow roaming. I get the entries
in the /home/vpopmail/etc/open-smtp and I have configured to use
tcp.smtp (default to /etc) but that file never get updated.
Here is the script I use for my qmail-smtp:
#!/bin/sh
QMAILDUID=`id -u qmaild`
NOFILESGID=`id -g
