When a user inputs data into the subject and body of the autoresponder, when
autorespond sends out the message, it seems to leave a gap in the header, so
the from: and subject: lines get added in the body.
Why is this happening?

Yes, recompile and reinstall (as far as I know vpopmail library is only
static).
