Hi
I'm having problems getting vpopmail 5.3.29, qmail 1.03 and qmail-scanner
1.20rc3 working together on a RH9 box. QMAILQUEUE patch is installed. Qmail
& vpopmail work fine without this line in

Hi
Can someone explain why vpopmail won't let me have "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" as a valid
email address.
I get "Error: Illegal username" when I try to add this, and I think it is a
vpopmail rather than qmail constraint.
Is there any way around this?
Cheers

Hi
Is there a way to test validity of an email address on my qmail + vpopmail
installation.
I'd like to test an email address (that would be handled by the local
system) to know if it will deliver, bounce or be rejected

Hi
Can someone tell me, if I do this:
vadddomain domain1.com
vaddaliasdomain domain1.com domain2.com
How does qmail or vpopmail know to alias the domains together? ie, which
file stores the link?
I've searched and searched and examined the sourcecode, but just haven't
come up with anything

Hi
I'm having a problem with Vpopmail 5.4.1 on Redhat. I don't think it has
been happening until recently.
In a nutshell, for domains that have .qmail-default set as

Hi Antonio
That domain is in the system, as I said, when I change bounce-no-mailbox
to 'catchall to postmaster' there is no problem at all. I have many
domains running without a problem, but it is all 4 that are using
bounce-no-mailbox that are having all mail rejected with 5.1.1
Nothing has chan
Hi James
What is in the .qmail-default for the domain?

I'm having problems with SMTP Auth.
I have installed:
Netqmail 1.0.5
Vpopmail 5.4.8
Simscan 1.0.8 & Spamassassin & Clamav
Chkuser 2.0.7
Bill Shupp's composite TLS & SMTP Auth patch, from

The error I'm getting is this:

Can somebody tell me why chkuser (I'm using 2.0.8) gives a 511 response
to a "user not found" error?
RFC 821 gives 550 as the correct response

Thanks Cristiano, but that RFC does not mention 511 codes either. I
haven't actually read it all, but
rry, can't find a valid MX for
sender domain (#5.1.1 - chkuser)\r\n"
Should these not be temporary 4XX errors?

Each mail client has to be set to use port 587 and SMTP Auth of course.
