[vchkpw] vpopmail-5.4.13 with mysql 5.0
On a Debian etch dist with qmail. I have no problem running vpopmail with cdb password auth. When I recompile for mysql I get no errors and the final output shows that the auth module will be mysql. If I lld various programs such as vconvert I get linux-gate.so.1 => (0xe000) libmysqlclient.so.15 => /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.15 (0xb7dee000) libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7dda000) libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libm.so.6 (0xb7db5000) libcrypt.so.1 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libcrypt.so.1 (0xb7d87000) libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7c56000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7c43000) libnsl.so.1 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libnsl.so.1 (0xb7c2d000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7fd9000) so as you can see it compiled the sql libraries in correctly.I created the vpopmail database and gave the right permissions. I can log in to mysql with the user and password just fine, I entered the right info into ~vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql. When I run /home/vpopmail/bin/vconvert -d -c -m it runs successfully with no errors. But no tables get created in vpopmail database. If i create a domain with vadddomain or vqadmin ( which I recompiled) it only creates a passwd file but no entries in the database. Please help what am I missing for vpopmail to switch to mysql. Virgil

Hello, What are the major differences between these versions? What is so special about the 5.5 server code? Stability and security wise, which one is more mature? regards, Christopher

I don't know, but vpopmail's domain quotas won't do it for you. The 'maildirsize' file is not getting updated properly for each users with vpopmail version 5.4.13. Can anybody help please?. 5.4.13 should be doing a better job of keeping maildirsize updated. Is it getting extra entries for mail that isn't delivered? Missing entries for mail that has been deleted? Hi I have been using vpopmail 5.4.0 which had the "enable-domain-quota" option and it is not there in vpopmail version 5.4.13. Does this new version support this feature? The 'maildirsize' file is not getting updated properly for each users with vpopmail version 5.4.13. Can anybody help please?. [vchkpw] vpopmail-5.4.13
hi all, i am using postgres as the db for vpopmail. i am trying to upgrade from 5.4.9 to 5.4.13 but when i run the configure script i get this error "valias is only supported in the MySQL authentication module" my configure options are ./configure --disable-roaming-users --enable-logging=p --disable-ip-alias-domains --disable-passwd --enable-clear-passwd --disable-domainquotas --enable-auth-module=pgsql --disable-many-domains --enable-auth-logging --enable-sql-logging --enable-valias valias used to work perfectly fine in 5.4.9, why valias is not supported with pgsql in 5.4.13 and REDME.pgsql does not provides any information for that. The only significant problem is that vdelivermail seems to be ignoring the "delete all mail" option in users' .qmail files. That's fixed in the stable-5_4 branch of CVS. Also, what is the rough estimate of the release date for vpopmail 5.4.14? Within the next two weeks? Someone just posted a patch to allow integration of vpopmaild into the 5.4 branch, something that a few people have asked for. I've also received some other patches to integrate. I can try to get a release out within a week. Tom Collins Tom Logic LLC PO Box 5717 Napa, CA 94581 (707) 265-6622 (707) 265-6646 fax [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks Tom, On friday night I dropped and killed my laptop and am just now back online. I will install it this evening and see what I can see. sparky Tom Collins wrote: http://vpopmail.sf.net/ Minor changes to 5.4.12, which was released two months ago.
