vdelivermail is part of vpopmail, deliverquota is part of maildrop. The older versions of vdelivermail did not correctly update the quota when reading .qmail files in the users home dir. That seems to be fixed in 5.4.12 hi Rick... thanks for sticking with this... right now i have a test

vdelivermail will read the .qmail file in the users directory. You should not need to move anything. You might need to upgrade your vpopmail version though. it doesn't... all domains use maildrop in .qmail-default like: |maildrop mailfilter and the relevant lines in the mailfilter:
