unable to access vmx base directory path

2011-02-11 Thread Mauricio César Ramírez Torres
I'm trying to capture an image, but I have no access to datastorage I
guess it's the way I'm setting up, but I tried several ways and I can
not do it, anyone can give me an example ? I've tried using ESXi

/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/
datastore1/
/vmfs/UUID/datastore1/

then rename the datastore because I read the file esx.README and try to
replicate the structure suggests, but I still have the same error
[VCL]/golden/
VCL/golden
/vmfs/volumes/VCL/golden

Problems with basic configuration

2011-02-10 Thread Mauricio César Ramírez Torres
In the Virtual Host section I select the profile VMWare ESX - local
storage and in the path to the VM's wrote / vmfs/volumes/datastore1 /
but when creating a new base image on the process of determining if
exist *. vmdk an Error ocurrs

|image|VMware.pm:does_image_exist(2963)|failed to determine if file
exists in repository :
/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/vmwarewinxp-WinXPintento914-v0/vmwarewinxp-WinXPintento914-v0.vmdk,
output:
find: /vmfs/volumes/datastore1: No such file or directory

2 questions here I come, why the name of the *. vmdk is altered, since
the actual name does not include the -v0 adding at the end nor the
beginning vmwarewinxp? at the same time indicates that datastore path is
not valid? which is the correct way you use to set the datastore? I'm
using VMWare ESXi v. 4.0 and VCL v 2.2

thanks in advance.

Subject: Re: SDK can not connect to VMWare

It looks like the username and possibly the password aren't configured
in the VM profile:

unable to connect to VM host: https://myserver:8333/sdk, username: '0',
error:

The username and password are currently required to use the vSphere SDK.
Otherwise, SSH must be enabled on the VM host and an identity key
configured.

Regarding VMware licensing, VCL works using the free ESXi license as
long as SSH is enabled. The vSphere SDK can only be used if the VMware
host is using a commercial license or running in evaluation mode. The
vSphere SDK and other methods provided by VMware are crippled when the
free license code is applied.

 Thanks.

I'm working with ESXi 4.0, 2.2 and SKD 4.0 VCL what I have installed
everything on the same computer, ie the database, the node manager and
web application, is this correct or recommend a different structure, I
did this so for testing, only I have 2 desktop computers to use as
customers at the time that works and to get familiar with the
application, when working properly then think of a final structure.

SDK can not connect to VMWare

2011-02-02 Thread Mauricio César Ramírez Torres
Good day, I have a problem with VCL 2.2 using VMWare ESXi 4.0 with SDK
4, basically trying to create a base image says that the SDK can not
connect to VMWare server, but do not know how I can prove it is possible
to connect to ESXi with the SDK. someone tell me how to prove?.

I also want to know if any of you would be interested in supporting me
to finish my installation properly, and if you are interested please say
as it would be the approximate cost.

Greetings and thanks.
