[vdr] H.264 VPID's

2008-01-13 Thread ShorTie
Been playing with this genpix, hd and xine. Pretty much got everything
running except for 1 thing seems to be hiding from me.

For vdr to be able to tune to a hd channel I need to add 1 to the vpid’s
which I do in my nscan/convert/pad10 no biggie.

The problem is that when I tune away from a hd channel vdr rights back to
the channels.conf with the normal vpid not the vpid+1 like I had.

Thus I can’t tune back to that channel till i manually change the
channels.conf back again.

I’m I missing a setting somewhere?

Thankz

ShorTie

Hi,

I've tried to pass through the source code and it seems to me that problem is
that multiproto driver for dvb-s2 frontend return SNR and STR in 0.1dB and
the value is by vdr-rotor (and by vdr-femon) then recalculated to dB once
more.

[vdr] Multiproto problem tuning some channels

2008-01-13 Thread Ales Jurik
Hi,

there is very difficult (or practically impossible) to tune some stations with
nominal values in channels.conf. But if increasing SR it is possible. It was
reported by another user in cssf.cz forum, too.

Example:
No possible:
City TV;Telenor:12169:hC78M2S0Z0:S1.0W:28000:512:640:0:0:1901:70:19:0
Possible:
City TV;Telenor:12169:hC78M2S0Z0:S1.0W:28005:512:640:0:0:1901:70:19:0

In all reported cases it was used TT S2-3200.

Hi,

I've tested it, it seems that it works - but I have motor behind the switch
(port D of 4port) and in some cases the dish doesn't went back to east (with
SS1, old driver, old rotor, vdr-1.5.12 no such problem detected). In that
case I have to switch to channel which is not behind portD and then back to
portD and the dish begin to move. I'm using gotoX functionality.

I'm using for testing:
- Debian Lenny
- TT S2-3200
- HH120
- vdr-1.5.13 patched by
vdr-1.5.12-dvbs2-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff,
vdr-1.5.12-speedup-fix1.diff and vdr-1.5.12-speedup-fix2.diff.
- rotor version vdr-rotor-0.1.4-vdr1.5.7.tgz patched by
Rotor-0.1.4-vdr1.5.10.diff and vdr-1.5.12-dvbs2-h264-other-rotor.diff and
with changes of SChannel->cChannel::SetSatTransponderData proposed above by
Reinhard.

Reinhard, if you agree I'm ready to cooperate in testing.

[vdr] error compiling vdr-xine

2008-01-13 Thread serge pecher
Hello,

I did install ffmpeg, xine-lib 1.2, and xine-ui to get vdr-xine working.

After searching a bit I achieve to compile the 3 first one, but I have an
error with make plugins. Input_vdr.h is missing.

I can't find that file on my system.

The make process tell me to patch xine-lib, but in the INSTALL file of the
plugin it is written that you don't need to patch if using xine-lib 1.2

Any idea ?

My system is a kubuntu 7;04

Thanks,

Hmm, the translation layer doesn't work correctly. It doesn't
translate new bandwidth value 1 to old bandwidth value 0,
although there exists code to do this translation, and it should
get called as the other translations happen correctly.

As a result the old driver uses a bandwidth of 7 MHz instead of 8
MHz.

While copying the code here to ask for help in searching the bug,
it seems that I found the bug -- a missing break in the DVB-T
case ;-)

Please try the attached patch.

[vdr] [ANNOUNCE] VDR developer version 1.5.13

2008-01-13 Thread Klaus Schmidinger
VDR developer version 1.5.13 is now available at

ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.5.13.tar.bz2

A 'diff' against the previous developer version is available at

ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.5.12-1.5.13.diff

WARNING:

This is a *developer* version. Even though *I* use it in my productive
environment, I strongly recommend that you only use it under controlled
conditions and for testing and debugging.

The changes since version 1.5.12:

- Fixed the declaration of cSubtitleObject::Decode8BppCodeString() (thanks to
  Gregoire Favre).
- The new setup option "Miscellaneous/Emergency exit" can be used to turn off
the automatic restart of VDR in case a recording fails for some reason.
- The kInfo key is now propagated to any open menu, so that it can react to it
in a context sensitive manner (suggested by Andreas Brugger). If there is
no menu open it will show the info of the current broadcast or replay.
- cTimeMs now uses the monotonic clock, if available (thanks to Petri
Hintukainen).
- Fixed cVector::Clear() and cStringList::Clear().
- Added cString::Truncate().
- Fixed the "i18n:" target in the "newplugin" script, so that it can create the
  initial *.pot file.
- Fixed handling the '-l' option.
- Fixed error handling in cCuttingThread::Action() (thanks to Udo Richter).
- Fixed a loss of the date display in the "classic" skin's main menu (reported
by
  Andreas Brugger).
- Added a missing setting of lastFreeMB in cMenuMain::Update() (reported by
  Andreas Brugger).
- Added '-Wno-parentheses' to the compiler options in order to avoid silly
compiler
warnings for expessions like 'a || b && c', where GCC 4.3 wants to force the
  programmer to write 'a || (b && c)', while everybody knows that '&&' links
stronger than '||' (reported by Tobias Grimm).
- Updated the Hungarian language texts (thanks to István Füley).
- Fixed displaying weekday names in the Schedule menu if the system uses UTF-8
  (reported by Jiri Dobry).
- The new plugin "pictures" implements a simple picture viewer.
  See PLUGINS/src/pictures/README for details.
- The automatic shutdown is now suppressed if the remote control is currently
disabled (suggested by Helmut Auer, implemented by Udo Richter).
- Added a section about "Logging" to PLUGINS.html (suggested by Torsten Kunkel).
- Enhanced the SVDRP command CLRE to allow clearing the EPG data of a particular
  channel (thanks to Benjamin Hess).

The necessary contact information can be found in plugin's source
package.

A few years ago I had an idea to provide audible tone that varies
according to current signal level. Unfortunately, I encountered some
problems while implementing it and the feature never saw the daylight:

- I couldn't get the live tv video and signal tone work at the same
time, when using budget cards and full featured card as tv out.
- DVB drivers signal strength and signal-to-noise values works correctly
only for a few cards. There're plenty of cards that provides inverted
   or zero strengt values.

However, I implemented several SVDRP commands into the plugin and those
commands can be used to provide the above mentioned functionality via
an external application in a similar manner as in 'femonspeak'. [1]

If you'll have a neat idea about new features, just drop me an email.

Thank-you very much for your time.

Attached are two files - tuning to the same DVB-T channel using either
system and the Philips frontend... vdr-1.4.x shows the channel fine,
1.5.12 does not.

Hope this helps and thanks again for your assistance.

Please report the relevant channel from VDR-1.4.x' channel.conf
and from VDR-1.5.12's channel.conf too.

Bye.

Re: [vdr] alphacrypt cam upgrade to version 3.12

2008-01-13 Thread Frank Enderle
hi simon,

i think you need the following file.

http://devel.mascom.de:8080/cms1/fileadmin/user_upload/Dateien/Bedienungsanleitungen/AlphaCryptUpdate3_12_Classic.zip

unfortunately the whole thing is written in german. i hope this is correct:

1. install the correct driver for your os. the system must not show an
exclamation mark in the device manager(?) which lists all devices - i
don't know how its called in english

2. exec the update program

3. select 'Gerätetreiber benutzen' if you're running 2000/xp, deselect for
95/98/SE

4. insert card into the pcmcia slot

5. klick start update - takes about 1-2 mintues and shows ready when it is
finished.

this is in short what's written in the _hilfe.txt file. i never did the update
myself this way, so i cannot tell you if it is working this way. they also
write that they made the update that way that normally the module will not be
harmed, only if something goes wrong in the little time window of 1 sec when
the complete software on the module is overwritten.

i hope this helps.

regards,

frank

[vdr] alphacrypt cam upgrade to version 3.12

2008-01-13 Thread Simon Baxter
Hi

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade my alphacrypt CAM to version 3.12 (New
Zealand)? One of mine is running 3.09 and I can't decrypt multi-channels in
a boquet.
My cable provider doesn't support upgrade over PIDs - so I need some manual
way from a PC.

Thanks

Simon
