Re: [vdr] TT Premium S2-6400 (F?ley Istv?n)
This seems to be very promising ! I was a little bit surprised to see in the specifications that it needs a CPU minimum P4 2 Ghz. That is a pity, because it should be great if it could be used in a thinclient like the HP T5000 series with 1 Ghz and 1 Gb. Did anyone gave it a try ? thanks, SP I know that some of you (especially Klaus :) ) already own this card, as a few arrived to dvbshop. I'm asking you to share some experiences, as I hardly understand german discussions on vdrportal. Currently I'm having two VDR machines, one with DVB-S Premium + CRT TV, and another one with DVB-S2 budget + xine. What I would like to know: with the new S2-6400 card does VDR works as rock solid as worked with FF DVB-S cards? This means for me: - OSD and remote are working instanly - even if I'm watching a HD playback, fast forward (and backward) works as expected - output device does not crash - I can leave the whole system to work for weeks and to be operated by my family, and it always will work as expected (as a VDR + FF DVB-S combo does) thanks for your answers. [vdr] vdr-1.7.11 + xineliboutput
Hello, I have an installation running with vdr-1.7.10 from the vdr-team PPA, and sasc-ng to use my 3 off subscribtions card. I have 2 dvb-S2 card in this computer, so with sasc-ng, 2 virtual dvb adapters. This is working quite well except the streaming to xbmc (freeze when zapping in xbmc) I intend to try a suggestion I found on this list, using vdr-1.7.11 unpatched + streamdev, patched. To keep it simple, I downloaded vdr-1.7.11, xineliboutput and streamdev (+applied patches) did make and make plugins. I then copied vdr to /usr/bin/vdr and the content of ./PLUGINS/lib to /usr/lib/vdr/plugins. I saw there was a new plugin (something like dvbdevice...for SD Nexus adapters). I did delete the lib file of that plugin and restarted vdr. Now I have channel not available. From what I see in the log, it don't find the virtual adaptors anymore. The primary adapter was formarly set to 3, now to one, and I cant change it in the osd menu. Did'nt had a lot of time to look after it yet, but maybe can someone help me solve this more efficiently. Is there something changed about that in vdr-1.7.11, that does that I need to adapt my configuration ? In the mean time I re-copied the original vdr binary and 1.7.10 lib files in place, and everything is working again, so I believe my config is still ok. many thanks, sp ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr

Stuart Hello, Is that working well ? I am using the vdr-team + henningpingel repo, but still have freezing problems (xbmc goes to +/- 100% cpu) when changing channels in about 30% of the cases. [vdr] problem with PPA VDR Team installation
Hello, I am using vdr 1.6 on a production machine with a FF card with a lot of satisfaction. I am already trying for several months (years ?) to get an another system working with 2 budget HD cards, and 2 clients. The first client is on the same machine (P4, 3.2 Ghz), the 2nd is a HP thinclient. On both i run vdpau. I am living in belgium, using TVvlaanderen (SD channels) and Telesat (SD and HD channels, some SD channels in mpeg-4) In the past I tried my own compilation, but without getting good results. The last i tried was a fresh install of Karmic with the PPA of vdr team and the XBMC experimental PPA. The results are still not satisfactory (not usable without frequent restart). I was wondering of it was related to my system, or to the developpment level of the softwares. The main issues I have : 1) vdr-plugin-xine : when viewing with xine, on some channels sound disappears after some time. 2) vdr-plugin-xineliboutput : Can't start it -segmentation fault 3) XBMC : from the moment I can get a channel, it goes perfect. It often freeze when zapping (have to kill xbmc). No sound on HD channels. Do you also encounter (ed) those problems, are there solutions yet ? Do you have some hints to resolve this issues. many thanks, sp ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr

[vdr] sound problem with recordings
Hello, I have a strange problem with a specific recording I did record some time ago (end 2007). It seems that, after some time (5 to 10 min) I loose the sync between the video and the sound. After an other +/-1 minute the sound becomes choppy. I had a look on the cpu usage : +/- 25% or lower The recording is on a IDE HDD in the same machine. When I try a recording made a few days before or later, no problem at all. cpu usage is the same as above. I am running vdr 1.5.13 on a Xeon, 2.4 Ghz, kubuntu 8.04, with a FF card. It is possible that the recording was made with an other version of vdr, because I am changing from time to time. Live TV and every other recording I did try are working well. Any idea ? [vdr] vdr-xine - screen size and resolution
Hello, I am making some test with vdr-xine 0.8.2, libxine en xine-ui from Reinhard's site (kubuntu 7.10) It is on a laptop without dvb device. For the moment I just try to replay recordings from an other vdr box, and dvd with dvdswitch. I use a Sony bravia 32 TV screen connected at the vga output of the laptop. The resolution configured in xorg.conf is 1280x720. I achieve to have the no-signal in full screen. When I replay recordings, most of them are with wide black bands left right and for some of them also small bands updown. Some recordings (most movies) have wide bands on the four sides. The most dvd's also have wide bands LR. One of them plays in full screen but the image is stretched. I was playing around with some settings of the plugin, but don't see how to get a good result. In the past I made some test, I believed, with vdr-xine (or maybe xineliboutput ?), and I can remember something in the settings that achieved auto-scaling. I had at that time almost everything in full screen, but sometimes also with wrong stretching. I tried to start xine, just by typing xine in a terminal box and choosinf vdr and I also tried xine -V xv --post vdr_video --post vdr_audio --post upmix_mono vdr:/tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes, but can't really see a difference. Re: [vdr] Two VDR's on one machine
As far as I can see I get the needed modules loaded (stb6100, stb0899, lnbp21 saa7416, budget-ci) When I try make unload and make load it loads 204 modules and I get no image at all anymore in vdr, nor on the nexus-s nor on the s2-3200. I think because s2-3200 comes as adapter0 and nexus as adapter1 When I rmmod all modules and just modprobe dvb-ttpci and stv0299, it works normally. When I modprobe stb6100, stb0899 and budget-ci, I can see an image on the nexus for a few minutes and then I read in the logs now tuned to ... and I get a black screen.
