Re: [vdr] reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264

2008-05-31 Thread Vangelis Nonas

I attach a new patch that will scan both DVB-S and DVB-S2 channels.

If anybody tries it please post back.

Thanks
Vagelis

Yes it is about the same warnings. Unfortunately I don't have much

I may manage to work on it the next days.

Any suggestions on how we can make the plugin work with DVB-S2 are
very welcome.

I suppose you are missing zlib or bzlib???

yes, you are right - one of them was not installed. After
installation this dev-package I coukd compile reelcnahhelscan

But I had warnings (not errors)

goga:/usr/src/VDR/PLUGINS/src/channelscan-0.6.1# make
g++ -fPIC -O2 -Wall -Woverloaded-virtual  -c -D_GNU_SOURCE
-DPLUGIN_NAME_I18N='"reelchannelscan"' -DVDRDIR=\"../../..\"
-DBOOST_IOSTREAMS_NO_LIB -DNDEBUG -I../../../include
-I../..//include channelscan.c

In file included from scan.h:34,
 from csmenu.h:42,
 from channelscan.c:31:
filter.h:193:1: warning: "MAXNETWORKNAME" redefined
In file included from ../../../include/vdr/device.h:18,
 from scan.h:31,
 from csmenu.h:42,
 from channelscan.c:31:
../../../include/vdr/nit.h:16:1: warning: this is the location of the
previous definition

However the "redefinition of type " messages you get as warning
(not errors) from g++, I get them as well.

do you mean the warnings about which I wrote above ?

because libboost-dev was not installed. I have copied missing boost-headers from

Re: [vdr] reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264

2008-05-25 Thread Vangelis Nonas
Hello,

After patching you have to go to main vdr directory and from there run
"make plugins".

If you want to clean up before compile do:
make clean; make clean-plugins;
then
make;make plugins to compile everything.

Thanks

2008-05-24 Thread Vangelis Nonas
I dont know what the problem is. From your error message I can only
guess that you haven't applied my patch at all. If this is the case try
applying my patch (without reel's patch from
/usr/src/VDR/PLUGINS/src/channelscan-0.6.1/patches) and post back.

Thanks

there's multiproto's version of frontend.h
http://jusst.de/hg/multiproto/log/46df93f7bcee/linux/include/linux/dvb/frontend.h

btw
is there any files "what's new" for reelchannelscan from 0.4.1 version till
0.6.1 ?

frontend.h is patched for S2 support. I donot if this would help,
just for your info.

I have done all that already :-)

I should look at reelchannelscan (or just forget it until I have more
free time).

Re: [vdr] reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264

2008-05-22 Thread Vangelis Nonas
Hello,

My patch does not change anything in vdr.

I have tested it on my machine. Here I have vanilla vdr 1.7.0 with the
h264 patch. Try applying this patch to your vdr and post back.

Maybe this is the problem.

Try make clean;make clean-plugins;make;make plugins.

To apply the h264 patch :

wget
http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/vdr/attachments/20080413/1054bcfb/attachment-0001.bin
mv attachment-0001.bin
vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff.bz2
bunzip2
vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff.bz2

and then patch -p1 inside your vdr directory.

Yes, you can use it without a reelbox, it is GPL.
However when I created the patch last night, I put the source and destination
directories in the wrong order, so the patch will not apply correctly (I was
too sleepy!!!). Anyway, I'll fix it this evening when I get to my machine and
post it again.

I would like to mention that for the time being the scanner won't pick up
DVB-S2 channels.
Anyone knows why?

However, can I use this without a "reelbox"? (I'm getting all my

[vdr] reelchannelscan 0.6.1 patch for vdr-1.7.0 + h264

2008-05-21 Thread Vangelis Nonas

I have created a patch for reelchannelscan 0.6.1 and vdr-1.7.0.

I have substituted cDevice::Provides_S2 with true (I have a dvb-S2
card). It is not the correct way to do it but I did not know what to do
I have changed some constants like PSK8, FEC_2_3, etc with other
constants I found in vdr that usually start with DVBFE. I hope it is
correct.
The plugin seems to work OK with DVB-S stations. When you ask it to scan
for HDTV it only returns DVB-S, not DVB-S2.

I would appreciate your help, in order to make this plugin work properly.

The attachment is compressed with bzip2.

Regards
Vagelis
