These work great for 18 and smaller flies. I cannot see the eye of the hook, to pass the tippet thru. That is why I rely so heavily on the threaders. I can have all my teeny flies on threaders and use them when I am out on the water. I am planning on tying 28 and 30s for my trip to the San Juan
