OK here is one.
I was doing beginner fly tying classes at a Dept Store in N.J.
This was a 6 week course. I had a husband and wife team sign up along with 10
other students.
I started out with the basics pointing out the materials and tools and how they
are used.
This gentleman just sat quiet.
Tony: That's a great story.. Although I have never heard of fly tying classes
at a Dept store LOL, Chuck

I think it's a chicken and the egg question. Either might work. The only
way to know is to pick one approach and give it a try.

Chuck, if you want to start a club in your area, contact me and I can help
guide you. I started one 3 years ago and we now have 125 members. I can
shorten up that learning curve for you and give some good insight on what
works and what doesn't
Tony: Great idea. You also gave me another idea. I'll also call all the local
Service Clubs, ie VFW, AmVets,DAV, etc etc.. Chuck

Just wanted to pop in and resurrect this squashed, bloody thread to
make a comment.
First of all, no disrespect to Jimmy, who I admire greatly as a
community contributor, a family man, and a tribute to Texas.
That said, I think Jimmy is way off-base with his reply. I need to
respond to that in
Wes, I seriously thought that Jimmy was joking. Maybe not.

Hello, VFB.
I'd like to start a thread about something of interest to me, and
hopefully, to some of you.
What stories do you have, that happened, when you were at a fly tying event?
