OK here is one. I was doing beginner fly tying classes at a Dept Store in N.J. This was a 6 week course. I had a husband and wife team sign up along with 10 other students. I started out with the basics pointing out the materials and tools and how they are used. This gentleman just sat quiet. As we progressed through the weeks I noticed he had a real knack for tying. His flies were top line. He never asked for help or had any questions. At the end of the six weeks I commented to him about his flies being so good. He said he had been tying for 40 years and took the class so his wife would take it. He said he had not been able to teach her but that I did a good job. In the classes he has attended, this was one of the best. My face was red but I was also proud. They joined our tying group and she is a good fly tyer now. That was 20 years ago Arkansas Tony
