Ashley: Thanks a lot. When I place an order to Stockards next time, I'll order
a spool of it to try out. Chuck

Hi Chuck,
I too would be interested in this thread. Where do you get it at? Sounds like

LOL- we actually have a thread about a thread going. Been a long time. Nice
to see VFB posts again on a tying subject.
Anyone interested in seeing a different take-off on rope-dubbed flies?
(rope-dubbers)
Very interesting look- very 'buggy'. But you'll need a tool- a copper wire
brush.
Hi DonO,
Yes, I would be interested.

Feathercraft has it: http://www.feather-craft.com
Chicago Fly has it: http://www.chifly.com
I'm sure there a lot of others.

Very interesting look- very 'buggy'. But you'll need a tool- a copper
wire brush. Works best with natural fur dubbing, and somewhat with
synthetics.
It looks like Chuck has started something here! I saw an add for the thread
but thought it was just another thread and didn't pay much attention. I have
reviewed the links below but still don't know what it is made of. Could it be
some form of Dyneema? At $3.70 a spool it is rather expensive
Bob. I saw it at http://www.jsflyfishing.com/Chuck

This weekend I met Lance Hidy, son of the author and a specialist on
flymphs. They had some interesting tools for making the mini dubbing
brushes, some nice art work. He also referred me to the above web
site/forum.
And I'll jet him a email and he will send me
I have a free sample 100m spool from JStockard, of the 16/0 black, and it
is as if two smaller-diameter threads are twisted to form that 16/0. It is
a whole lot stronger for size than other midge-sized threads that I have
tried. (I can't say that the others are 16/0 or the same denier, but it is
I got this email below that I sent back in my in-box (normal). But other
emails I only see as trailers on reply emails. I didn't get my post back- quite
often. Why is it not consistent? Can't be a setting.
I just sent a post with the rope-dub instructions, but I don't see it posted.
