Just my luck, been looking forward to going fishing on a pristine chalk
stream for the past couple of months and two days before I am due to go I
get a cough and cold.
Because of the chemo I dare not go, knowing my luck I would end up with
Pneumonia, but luckily we had someone ready to take my
Birdie,
I know what you mean. My fishing partner is going through the Chemo treatments
for the past five years.
Today it is perfect on the river. The river is smooth as glass, no wind and I
can see fish rising. If I was able to get out I would have to have someone with
me. I just can't get on

Hey Birdie:
I call is Sod's Law . Tonight is my club's annual fund raising auction and
I have come down with a cough, cold and sore throat and at present, I'm not
sure if I can make the auction.
I do hope that your chemo is doing what it needs to do for you. Hang in there

I think there are too many of this group who are ill in some form or
another, lets hope that we all get well enough to fish for some years yet
and lets do it quickly.

I think that you are right. I was going like a house on fire some years ago but
the last few years I have slowed down to a snail's pace. The home nurse just
left and he asked me if I had been able to fish. He said as good as I was doing
today that I might of done some fishing off my dock. I
Only 11 days until my High Mtn season opens. Hopefully the weather will
cooperate?
I shut off the heater in my pump house a couple days ago, just to save a
few $$. Middle of April
should not see temp below 20 degrees, one would think?
Anyhow, got up late this morning (one of the nice things
Don,
I tried tying again a while ago, I will not be able to get the flies tyed for
the swap. I will take you up on your offer to tie them for me. I really hate
dropping out but I am just having to.
It is 74* now and the river is still flat with the trout rising. I think I will
just take a nap
Hi'all,
I finally decided on the pattern. Was tricky. My thinking was, what
would best suit to Jimmy. So, Finally I took a book out of my shelf:
American Fly Tying Manual. Sounds good for an old Texan, isn't it? No
Texas Fly Tying.., at least American...
It's an book in English language, but
I am afraid I will have to drop out. Tried tying again this afternoon, will not
be able to do it.
Sorry about this but I have no choice.

Went out yesterday in the afternoon. It was 45 degrees with a 25 mph wind. My
hands were very cold, but got enough fish to eat and share some fillets.

Dang, it’s April 16th as we have a full-blown winter blizzard going on outside.
Global warming has to be going on somewhere else, as it sure isn’t happening
here in old WYo.
The extra water in the mountains is a good thing, tho, so I can’t complain too
much- keeps the N. Platte flowing all
I hate to tell you, It is now 83 here in Flippin. The river is still down and
no wind though the sun is shining with a few clouds. Man I wish I could get on
the river.

Tony,
I have had very few hours of almost no days that the temp reached 38.
I would give almost anything to just fish from your dock. I do know
there is a very large
Brown hanging out under it. actually I can see it from my front window.

Hi All;
Stopped by my favorote fly shop and picked up a couple new spools of pearsalls
langley silk thread. On thr way home I got to thinking on what's the best way
to store pearsalls and other spooled materials.
So, how do you store your spooled materials!

*I find the simplest way to store my spooled materials is in flat Plano
type tackle boxes. I especially like the boxes with adaptable compartment
sizes. By using this type box, I can also sort my thread, etc., into
different boxes.*
