I am looking forward to retirement in June. Things to do, places to see,
grandkids to play with.

Lucky chap,
I've still 7 years to go, and I'm already older than you were when you
retired.

Wayne,
How old will you be when you retire? I was 58 and had to work after I

I still have 20 years to go to get to where Wayne is at now and to be
honest I will probably be working another 20 past that with the way
retirement looks from my vantage point. That's why I try to get out and
fish when I can.

We are retiring August 29, 2014, I turn 65 in May and Jerry 67 August

as I was unable to buy health insurance 2 years ago as a private citizen.
By waiting till Jerry turns 67 he gets a extra 8%, now the kicker. we

Our plan is to fish 50 rivers, our of our 10 year old Winnebago, a
month at each location, then when we are to old, stay home.
Peggy,
That is a really great plan. I'm delighted you had the foresight to be
able to do this.
Looking forward to meeting Jerry at Sowbug.

I should have added something else to this, my Dad died when he was 55
and his parting advice was to spend some of it on the way. He ran a
business for 35 years and took 3 vacations where he got to go somewhere.

Good thinking, I was injured on the job and let out two years before
retirement. I will not go any further with this except it lead me to a lower
cost living area of the country and I never regretted it.
I hope your plans go as planned and come back and see us.

That's ok Scott, thanks in advance for funding my social security (once I get
to collecting it). I guess I'm obligated to planning fishing trips for you to
enjoy, once I'm semi retired and have all that spare time LOL!

Better late then never and I like the road trip idea, may have to copy it a bit.
I have a friend who's a little older and already semi retired that I'm planning
a summer 2015 retirement fishing trip to East Grand lake in Maine. Both our
families vacationed together a few years back, I caught
Allan,
Make one of those rivers close to me so we can fish together. (starting in

Mike, I'd like to but that was Peggy's comment. I'm a little concerned that my
wading days are in question.
