It just dawned on me. I was looking up these external tanks and it says they
are vented. So, does that mean that instead of that bulb pressurizing the
tank, that it is just a primer to get the boat motor going, and then the boat
motor's vacuum takes over to siphon the gas from the tank to the

you don't have to squeeze the bulb any more it will set up a vaccuum

I have used something called Seals all purchased at bWally world
and sealed the gas tank on my truck and oil pan on another car the
car is still holding. Another way is to solder it using a iron
