it is Fed Bach's Mayfly vise, great vise for the money. Got it today and
I'm impressed. Excellent access at the hook's bend, smooth rotary
function, and an excellent bobbin rest.
I'll use it for the next swap, I don't expect it to replace my Regal
(different concept), but nice for traveling,
Don, Louis doesn't want me to share his pattern on the web. Thus I will be

My take on the Mayfly vise. I find that it is smooth, but as the hook
holding assembly does not have a cam it would never be a go to vise as is.
If I were designing this vise, the handle would be a bit longer so it would
be easier to rotate and it would come with a simple cam type
I was saving these for when I had my site re-furbished.

I've had that same experience at the gold medal waters of the Fryingpan
River in Colorado. There is a hugely popular run just below the outlet of
Ruedi Dam. The fish feed on mysis shrimp being washed out of the reservoir,
and that diet makes for healthy and brilliantly colored
My first reaction was to respond to Mike Bliss's comment. Second act was to
look at Don Ordes' cartoons. That is stirring work, good friend! I
especially like the fly tying-related ones. Then again, the one that sticks
in my mind visually, is the electrocution scene.
