Quicktime 6 or 7, VLC, Mplayer, to name a few. If the mp4 wont open in quicktime then its either corrupt or theres something about the mp4 that isnt quicktime compatible (try VLC instead). If you have quicktime 6 and the mp4 is of h264 type then it wont work. Cheers Steve of Elbows --- In

You can do two pass compression without encoding once, then doing it again manually. Just set the first pass settings, then set the second pass settings, then leave the compressor on second pass and go to compress the movie. Works the same except you don't have to go through all the steps again

The way I understand it, it creates smaller and/or better quality files. During the first pass, it analyses the footage and gets a chancve to workout what bitrate etc for different scenes will work best. So when it comes to do the actual encoding on the 2nd pass, the encoder has more info about

I use QT7/Tiger and I use 3ivx Dual Pass - it is the best size/quailty ratio after much experimentation. The h.264 is a little smaller with the same quality but takes much longer to compress - plus the biggest drawback is that it requires QT7 to view. What is the bug? I haven't noticed any
