Yeah,
MSNBC is doing the same thing with any news world wide. It's being
treated by the newsdesk the same as any stringer or spec video
(unsolicited news). If it's compelling enough they'll put it onthe
air, but you'll have to fight for credit/compensation. And as soon
as they use it, it

.mov files can contain any number of codecs.
3ivx works in iTunes, all RB videos are 3ivx.

As I posted earlier, I have used the 3vix codec only. I have posted

Video tape is still the cheapest archive medium.
I save all original (source) tapes, I make a comp reel of finished
pieces and save that, and I make DVDs of the posted files (QT-MPEG4)
and Avid bin. I use a firewire drive to archive this stuff to as I
go and when it gets large, I burn DVDs

2 small points;
D1 video (a standard for digital broadcast video) is defined as
720x486 with a rectangular PAR (pixel aspect ratio). 640x480 is the

The problem is that h.264 requires QT7 and a fast machine, decoding
is processor intensive using current technology. I can't afford to
loose a large part of my audience, so I use 3ivx to make Quicktime

I think Veoh got it right when they introduced the TV ratings scale in
their directory to be applied by podcasters and suggested by viewers.
With that said I always apply the explicit flag to all my posts even

investors, so therefore my stuff gets seen by a new audience.
