Thank you.

Thank Josh; if I remember correctly, it was he who originally pointed me to it. The only control I see is Pause/Play, and it works immediately. So I'm not clear what problem you're seeing?

I just started encoding my own Flash for my vlog so I can ditch
YouTube. I also created my own flash player complete with a LOUDER
slider that goes up to 11. I may tweak it some more. I spent way too
much time working on it last weekend. But I gotta say that using
Sorrenson Squeeze gives much better results than just using a web
based service. There are just a couple of things that I would like to
be able to work out yet, like being able to create poster frames in
the Flash file etc. But my current work around for that is to take the
frame I've chosen for my poster frame and paste it at the begining of
the movie and that seems to work for now. You can see the results on
my vlog.

Try to find the On2 Flix Exporter... that gives the best Flash Video

However... while Flash is great on the web, i still think its
necessary to provide alternative formats that are more portable and
suited for syndication.

Oh yes I totally agree. That's why I always enclude a Quicktime file
for the feed. Actually, I'm treating the flash version as my low
bandwidth option (and it's compatible back to Flash 6) so that
affords me the opportunity to encode the Quicktime versions at
higher bit rates than I would have before. But really I'm very
impressed with the quality of video at low bit rates that Sorrenson
4 can produce.

There are ways to use Flash to make it less easy to download.
Most people won't go to the trouble of screen recording but if
you're a video editor looking for footage to remix and decide you want
a certain clip, its certainly not difficult to screen capture. Its
sort of like the analog hole except not, well, analog.

[videoblogging] Re: A Reason the Use Flash?

2006-01-23 Thread Nerissa \(TheVideoQueen\)

Tis true. Any time you release something into the world in any format, Internet or analog you risk someone copying your work. The best defence is to not do anything or if you do never let anyone see it. But that's not really an option is it? So thats why we have a legal system. I suspect that your subjects are being slightly more paranoid than they should be. What was your agreement with them? And why are they so paranoid about their images being used in other context? Bill Streeter LO-FI SAINT LOUIS www.lofistl.com That's true--everything is duplicatable, one can only reduce the number of people who would take time to figure out how to copy. Streaming flash is "safer" than progessive download flash, yes. But everything can be duplicated with a good flat monitor, camera with variable shutter and
aperature, andminjack (speaker out) tominijack (mic line in) cable.Ifthis threads original author isconcerned abouttheir content being passed around andnot receiving credit than what I recommend is to "tag" or "brand"one's videos withtheir logo or web url so everyone who sees their stuff (no matter who's hosting it) will know how to findthem andsee more oftheir stuff. That's how I found several great resources and vlogs. I write about it here and show samples: http://www.thevideoqueen.com/articles/article/2665045/38124.htmNerissaNerissa Odenhttp://TheVideoQueen.comhttp://FreeMediaGuide.comhttp://FreeVideoCoding.comhttp://FreeVideoEditing.comhttp://Nebelungs.blogspot.comMy
