That's very odd, I just brought it in on my iMac, and it works fine. I did re-ftp the file into archive.org, but how can that screw things up? Doesn't appear to be anyone else on the list except you actually has a G5 iPod, and is charitable enough to check, Steve. Never mind, and thanks. No I just tried subscribing in itunes, it downloads that track but then gives an error that its corrupt or incompatible. Im on a mac. Other possibility is that as Im in Europe, the file is being downloaded from a european archive.org mirror, and maybe the version on that server is corrupt? Need someone else to try it really, theres not much more I can try. I cant get that oneto play in quicktime, itunes or anthing else, seems to be well broken? Is it ok at your end, if so bad upload? The technical differences between baseline and main are that certain features that can aid quality/compression are not present in baseline profile. Baseline doesnt support B slices, weighted prediction, CABAC, field coding and macroblock adaptive switching between frame and field coding. I dont think most people need to understand what that means, I certainly dont understand all of those in detail. In the same way, there is also a profile called High, which includes features not found in the main profile, but I havent seen an encoder that supports high profile yet. [videoblogging] Re: iPod video owners: check a vid for me?
None of those work. They are all the wrong video format and the wrong audio format. mpeg4 video (or h264) and AAC audio is the starting point for compatibility, and then theres more devil in the detail but I'll leave it at that for now.
