I am investigating the Films Media Group streaming collections and also
looking at the Alexander Street Press collections. I am worried about
bandwidth issues, both collections will be hosted, but will they still
tax our bandwidth so much that they will be frustrating and
counterproductive? Does
We have a number of titles from Films Media Group and several of the video (and
audio) databases from Alexander Street Press. Our experience has been
extremely positive with both vendors. It's true, bandwidth can be an issue for
some institutions, and it has been a concern for us in relation
Hi
Unless you plan on very large numbers of concurrent users (which tends to
be rare in most institutions), most hosted streamed collections are fairly
easy on bandwidth (at least in my experience).

Hello, All.
I am attempting to locate a copy of a video title we currently have in
our collection that is part of the 8 program series Dancing produced
by WNET and distributed by Kultur Video.
We own the 8-program series, however program 2: Lord of the Dance, has
had some damage and it is
This series is long out of print and is no longer available.
The entire series is available as streaming video in Alexander Street Press'
Critical Video Edition: Dance in Video.
You can, of course, invoke US copyright law (Section 108 - duplication of lost,
damaged, stolen, obsolete format)
If there are PPR rights available in the US they should belong to Swank, the
problem is the film is 11 years old and most contracts on foreign films run
7 to 10 years. If Swank does not have it your best bet on tracking the PPR
rights are whoever is currently distributing the DVD IF it is still

Dear CW,
Is Robert Reinert's Nerves/Nerven (1919) available in the U.S.? Either
purchase or rental would be fine. I know in 2008 there was a Edition
Filmmuseum DVD release. It is not listed for sale with the usual suspects.
The OCLC record does not mention Region and a British DVD review
Here's the cataloging for our copy:

Bought from Edition Filmmuseum. I'm almost 100% it has never been
released in the US.
It's PAL, Region 0 with subtitles. Definitely worth getting!

You might want to try Gartenberg Media http://www.gartenbergmedia.com/ in
NYC since they represent some of the Edition Filmmuseum titles in the US. If
not, then you can order them from their website. Their releases are usually
zone free.
Best,
Dennis
