That's very helpful - it gives the sense of it. Claire did say to me that
she had seen something in Latin in Harvard University Library. I thought
it was a version of the Memoirs but it doesn't seem to be the same.
I don't suppose the whole thing is Corbetta's
Whilst we are on the subject of Corbetta's biography I wonder if anyone has
seen a copy of Heinrich Sievers Die Musick in Hannover which has a reference
to Corbetta's employment in Hannover on ps.46, 134. It seems that Cambridge
University does have a copy of this but I haven't managed to

Well - I spent a lot of time looking at this some time age - the British
Library have a
copy. In spite of not knowing much German or being able to read Gothic
script I did manage to make some headway with the section about England
which described the London of Charles II very accurately. I
