Whenever I tried converting books in to epub to read on iBooks, I found more
pages in the book than there are paragraphs in it. I found it really a
worthless exercise to convert to epub. May be some books convert better than
others?

Not very well unless an update newer than 2.02 is out. I'd recommend
checking out MusicDock. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of

I'm not sure I know what you are asking.
My understanding is that all iBooks are ePub, but iBooks are protected so
you cannot change them if you down loaded the book using iBooks.
