Kindle books are protected just as Audible books are protected and tied to the account with which they were purchased hence only the account holder can download them to devices he or she has registered with the service. Removing the DRM is not something the moderators allow to be discussed here

It is perfectly safe to install. The phone carriers are putting in options for emergency notifications. Amber alerts, government alerts, etc. After installing the update you can go to settings and then notifications and at the bottom you can see them and turn them off if you wish. Brent
