I actually fixed it by turning off dictation under keyboard and turning it back
on and now it is working. I couldn't find the use home button place so tried
just the dictation off and on and that worked.

Starting yesterday I haven't been able to dictate text messages using Siri.
She either says "I am having trouble connecting," or "There is a problem."
I can use my bluetooth keyboard and type the message and it sends fine. Is

you’ll retrieve it from your message, and then you enter wherever it is asking

It’s basically letting apple know, hey, this user is signing in. This way they
know no hacker, or anyone else is trying to log
IF you got a code, it probably means that there is an edit box into which to
enter the code, either on that device or another Apple device if you have more
than one.
