Any GPS
Any GPS app for your iPhone will use data from your plan. Many other GPS apps
will not give you the detailed information your use to with Trekker such as
type of street crossing such as G Street crossing H street 4 way crossing. The
GPS reciver in iPhone is ok but no match for your Trekker.
There are GPS apps for your iPhone which download maps to your phone and
then won't require you tu use your data plan. Therefore, you can
download the maps over wifi and never need to use your data plan.

One huge advantage of most GPS apps is that they use online maps which are
constantly updated. How old is the most recent Trekker map update, at best they
are released once a year if I remember correctly.
I also would hazard a guess and say
I find that Trekker and Blind Square disagree on distance traveled.
Blind Square says I have gone farther than Trekker does.

How do these apps manage data? For example, how much data would I use for a
45 minute walk around a semi residential/business neighborhood?
