I use the roder too, mostly for editing features such as pasting text from m
braille to other apps. I just don't usually have the change speech rate or
volume controls on the roder.

Barbara, I had the exact, same problem. Someone told me to use the rotor, and
mine is at 55. I tend to avoid the rotor like the plague.

Yes, you can indeed move the voice over speaking rate by 5%
increments. Your speaking rate should be in your router. Once you
find speaking rate, you should be able to move by 5% increments. If
you go to speaking rate in voice over settings, then it would go by
10% increments.
