An alternative to the above (correct) solutions is as follows:
1) Open “Settings”
2) Locate and select “Phone”
3) In the resulting dialog find “Block Callers” and select it.
4) At the top of this resulting dialog you should encounter an “Add” button,
select that button.
5) Look for the resulting

But you can delete bulk messages by going in to messages,
Clicking on the edit button at the very top left,
Then select
Select messages,
Then go

there is a way to do this on their end when I get to the right
I am not aware of any way to delete all messages at once. You have to delete
conversation by conversation.
As for blocking texters, yes you can.
Open the text message.
At the top, do a one finger double tap and hold, or a one finger triple tap to
bring up the context menu.
