I have a very strange email issue, or rather my wife does. She has a Gmail
account
and a Hotmail account, both loading to her iPhone. They are both IMAP
accounts, and
she has them set up as such on the iPhone. These accounts are not linked to
each
other in any other way. Which is to say,
On the iPhone, try refreshing the trash box or empty it.
This is how i solved this problem.

Are the accounts set up on a computer as Imap instead of pop3? In order to sync
the mail, you might want to do this.
All of my email accounts are now set to Imap, and I have never had this problem.
