Hello listers, and Mark
If you find the hide keyboard button in the bottom right hand corner of the
keyboard, you can do what is called a scrub gesture, this is done by placing
two fingers on the screen and scrubbing from left to right several times, and I
believe this will split the keyboard.
Hi, everyone who's chimed in on my Ipad thread.
First, thanks to those whose consensus gave me a good place to look for the @
sign I need to complete my Apple ID. Unfortunately, I still haven't found it.
:) That's okay, I have to work this project in with the other things I try to
juggle
Do the rotor gesture until you get to punctuation and make sure it is set to
speak all. Just a shot!

Mark,
You can tell SIRI your user Id, but SIRI or Dictate is not available in a
Password field since that would not be secure as somebody may overhear you
and in any case, it would be hard to dictate a password that is just random
characters, numbers and symbols and where letters are both upper

Thanks for this; I haven't tweaked VO's settings yet, so it's on the beginner
settings, highest verbosity, unfortunately. Thus, as it is now, split-tap is
not enabled, and you have to tap twice to enter a character into the text
field. Going to have to fix this sooner than
If double tapping to enter a character works then split tapping should
work as well. These are just two different ways of standard typing. The
setting switches between standard typing and touch typing. Unless I'm
mistaken, there's no setting to turn on split tapping. You just get it
for free with
Well, okay, maybe you can then tell me how to turn off Split keyboard? I did a
gesture that turned it off, now the message body of a new mail message is
protruding between my keyboard halves. :) Found the At sign though! *grin*

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about typing mode,
using a split tap instead of a double tap. I didn't realize you were
talking about a split keyboard on an iPad.

No, I turned on Split keyboard, because I heard it say Split Keyboard On.
It's not the screen, it's the keyboard itself which has been squished over to
the left and right to make way for the message body. There's a gesture to get
rid of it.

Please excuse me, Monni, I *LIKE* split *TAP*. I am annoyed by the split
keyboard on the bottom of my screen. I want it to be all one keyboard; I don't
care if the screen is split, with the settings and other junk on the left and
the relevant app taking up center and right. *grin* I want to
You can turn off the split keyboard in settings, general, keyboard. It is a
toggle off or on.

According to what I found, if you go to settings, general, and keyboard, there
is a toggle to turn split keyboard on and off.

Can you tell me how I turned it on in the first place? The keyboard was NOT
split for the longest time while I was setting up Cloud Mail, and then it
turned on; any idea how that happened?
