Yes when you restore it will default everything to factory settings.

It's easier to go to settings, general, reset and double tap on erase
all content and settings.

Thanks to all who confirmed that you can easily reset an i-Device via general,
settings on the device itself. Mary Ellen, my iPod is a 3rd generation 64GB
model that I'm hoping finds a home with one of the local teens around here.
