The user manual should answer all of these questions, and if not, how about
running a Google search or contacting the manufacturer.

I'm very happy with my Anker battery. I'm certain it's the same one you have
Kevin. The button on the side near the top is the only control on the batttery.
I would need to use a light detector app to tell if the led flashlight was on
or off. There isn't any way to tell how much charge is in the battery. I plug
it in every month or so to keep it full and ready. I also have a smaller
lipstick sized Anker battery for those times when you don't need a whole bag of
accessories and just want your phone.

charger that can handle 2 devices and a mesh sack which will hold both the
battery and my iPhone 6S plus in its Otterbox Defender case. I’d like to know
if there are any tips in using this battery? Specificly, I’m curious about how
it’s supposed to handle devices when plugged into it. Someone that I know has
an E5 Anker with what he describes as having IQ technology. He says that if
you unplug your iPhone from the USB cable and leave it connected to the
battery, if you plug in the iPhone to the cable it’s not supposed to start
charging it. Mine does start charging the iPhone if I unplug it from the
battery and leave the USB plug hooked to the battery, then plug the iPhone back
into the cable. Should the Anker battery operate the way mine does? If so, is
there a power switch on the Anker to turn it off, or is it smart enough to
handle when things are plugged into it?

Here are two things about the Anker, one that could come in handy, and
one that is a potential battery drain if you’re totally blind with this
battery. The nice feature is it has three USB ports on it, so you can charge
multiple iDevices, or anything with a USB connecter on it. The thing that can
be a potential battery drain for totally blind users is if you press down and
hold on the button that displays the charge level, it will activate an LED
flashlight, and this is quite bright. To turn it off, just press down and hold
on the indicator button.

That’s all I can think of. I’ve had this battery for about four hours.
I plugged it in to top it off for about two hours, then I unplugged it from AC
and plugged in my iPhone. I’m happily listening to the Yankees Red Sox game
right now, and I do have some vision, so I know the LED flashlight is off.

Have a blessed day and don’t work too hard.

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Chris Chaffin

To restart the watch:
Hold in the friend button for a couple of seconds and you will get a pop up
screen.
Just swipe to power off and double tap.
It does take a couple of minutes to totally power off.

Once off, just hold in the friend button for about 2 seconds and release to
start the watch in the turning on process. It will take a couple of minutes to
completely turn on your watch.
I do not restart my watch that often, but if it starts acting funny in any way,
I just restart it, and it usually fixes it.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Georgina Joyce
Hello,

I had this trouble some months ago and I can’t think how I fixed it. I think I
just cleaned the back of the watch. I reasoned my skin would have greased it up
so that the charger didn’t make full connection.

All is OK now.

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Well, it’s only a year old, so I hope not!

I took the watch off the charger, wore it today, then put it back on when I got
home. It made the usual connection sound, then I rushed over to my phone and
was able to do the software update to the watch OS. so, I hope this is the
last I’ll see of that message!

RE: iTunes 12.3.4 or whatever it is isa mess

2016-08-11 Thread Cher Bosch
Yes! This is especially true when iTunes keeps breaking things on each new
incremental update. It seems egotistical and insane for them to suggest that
the screen readers should come out with a fix every month or so for what they
have arbitrarily broken L

I think this is definitely an Apple Accessibility issue since while the
screenreader makers like Jaws/Window Eyes, NVDA etc. also need to do their
part, I think there ust is not enough cooperation between Apple and them. It’s
like Microsoft and Jaws, if you listened to Jonathan’s recent Podcast where he
interviewed this guy from Microsoft who said that Microsoft has done and is
doing a bunch of stuff to make things better and they are providing Jaws with
the framework to make the experience better. It seems to me that Apple somehow
is not doing this with iTunes and this comes down to a basic commitment by
Apple to make iTunes as accessible as possible on the Mac with Voiceover and on
the PC with Jaws, Window Eyes and NVDA.

Do you suggest writing to Apple Accessibility or Apple.com/feedback? Thanks,

Hi Larry and others,

There was an iTunes update yesterday, the current version is iTunes Version
12.4.3.1. Unfortunately little seems to be fixed and certainly newer versions
of iTunes 12 have taken steps backward with respect to accessibility. If you
use the column browser with Genres, Artists and Albums, these list views are
not read (at least not by the latest version of Jaws 17). 2 or 3 versions ago
it would read them and, for some reason, say “L1” in front of whatever else it
said, now it will just say List View.

I am going to write to Apple accessibility since while I use iTunes less
frequently in connection with my iPhone, I still may want to use it at home on
my PC and of course there are some tasks like syncing Ringtones etc. one can
only do with iTunes. As Brian Tong from the AppleByte Podcast always says when
Apple has dropped the ball on something, I would call this a “bad Apple”.
Hopefully others will join me in writing about better iTunes accessibility.
There are I think around 2,000 members on this list now and even if only 1 out
of 4 took the time to send a message, maybe if Apple Accessibility received 500
messages they’ll understand that this should be addressed. It would certainly
be more effective than only 5 messages. And while people are at it, why not
make the subject “Accessibility of iTunes and iCloud.com which Apple seems to
think are not important to blind users”. I still don’t understand how Apple has
done nothing to make the iCloud.com website accessible after so many years.

Sieghard

downloaded and installed it. Big mistake. Does anyone know how I can get back
the music view which gave genras, then tab to artists and so on. Or play lists
at least.

It could have gone into “power reserved mode”. Only the time is displayed, and
features like VoiceOver will not work. To get out of “power reserved mode”,
press and hold the friends button for about four seconds and not the usualy

I don't thin they do, the only way they would ever know if you've unfriend them
is if they were to look in their friends list and notice you were no longer
there. But the likelyhood of someone going to that extreme is slim.

I myself go through my friends list from time to time and unfriend those I
rarely speak to.

Re: How to unfriend someone with the FB app

2016-08-11 Thread Daniel L. Gervais
If your version of FB requires an update, might not be a bad idea to do so.

I know that when I view the profile of a friend, if I start from the top and
swipe right, you should hear, at one point, "Profile Picture or Video", then
swipe right and you should hear "Cover Photo" and possibly some alt text of the
picture, then if you swipe again, VoiceOver won't read anything, but if you
swipe to the right once more, you should hear "Friends" button Selected. If
you double tap on this, you will have the option to unfriend, unfollow, change
what group their in (e.g. Friend, Family, etc.) and then a cancel button.

I normally get to my friend profiles by selecting the "More" tab at the bottom
of the screen, then select your friends and from your list, select the friend
you wish to remove.

I found I had better success using the FB iPhone/iPod version of the app, had
more difficulties using the iPad version of the app. So try that and see if
you have better luck.

Hope this helps!

It looks like it should be clear enough, but I don't see a friends
button or a follow button when I go to her profile.

Maybe I need to update my FB app.

I'm very confused.

Re: How to unfriend someone with the FB app

2016-08-11 Thread Julie Dawson
On the computer under friends, you go to the specific friend you wish to
unfriend. Then to the bottom of the page there is a link to unnfriend. You
click or enter on that link and you will be prompted are you are certain you
wish to do this. You enter on the link that says you are sure and it says
you are certain and it says you are unfriended. Then you can altf4 or back
out with alt left arrow to get back to the friends list if there are other
friendsyou wish to perform this action with.

I haven't tried this on the appbut can do this on the computer.

2016-08-11 Thread Kimber Gardner
It looks like it should be clear enough, but I don't see a friends
button or a follow button when I go to her profile.

Maybe I need to update my FB app.

I'm very confused.

Re: How to unfriend someone with the FB app

2016-08-11 Thread Daniel L. Gervais
Hi,

The easiest way I found is go through your friends list and select the person
you wish to remove and view their profile. Swipe through and you should hear a
"Friend" button that is selected, next to a "Follow" button that is also
selected. If you double tap on the selected "Friend" button, a box should pop
up asking if you wish to unfriend this person. Confirm and there you go, one
less friend.

I can understand how confusing the FB app can be, they seem to keep changing
processes around. For the longest time,I wasn't able to figure out how to view
friends of friends of mine and just a couple of days ago, I manage to figure it
out.

Good luck and hope this helped!

Re: IOS 9 and blue tooth hearing aid streamer

2016-08-11 Thread Scott Davert
Hi Ann.
Have you tried re-pairing the Streamer after having the phone forget
the device? Also, if this doesn't solve the problem, you may wish to
try resetting network settings, which also resets bluetooth pairing
somehow. I've not heard of this issue before, and know a few people
using the streamer successfully, so if these steps don't work, it
could be specific to that Streamer. have you contacted the audiologist
about this? It may also be worth reaching out to Apple Accessibility
to see if they have any ideas.

Take care,
Scott

Call your cell phone carrier and, update to 9.3.4.
That's what I would do.

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Richard Turner
When that happens with an iPhone, it usually means that the cable is going bad,
or is not making a good connection. I suspect it is the same with the watch.

Hi all, I am using iPhone SE with 9.3.2. I am getting issue in
receiving the call, actually it is getting to late to have received
the incoming call. The call is received almost after 3 to 4 seconds
after doing double tap with two fingers. Assuming that the call has
not been received, again pressing two fingers double tap cuts the
call.

Re: Finding Neato when it's stuck?

2016-08-11 Thread 'Sandratomkins' via VIPhone
Hi Fellow Neato users,

I can answer a couple of questions:
1. How to change from Turbo to Eco, using the app. If you have the screen
saying "Robot (this would be whatever name you have given your BotVac) ready to
clean" Double-tap on that and you get a new screen, with a "back" button at the
top left. Flicking through, you will hear "settings" followed by the mode it is
currently set to, (with the app, it is always defaulting to Turbo). Flick back
to "settings" and double-tap that. Now flick again and you will hear "Eco"
double-tap that, then flick twice more, past Turbo til you get "OK" and
double-tap that. Now you have changed from Turbo to Eco.

2. To find the "spot clean" settings: Go into "Options" select "Spot".
Remember, it is the button before the description, not the one after it. Now
you will be back on the usual screen, the one with the "play" button. It should
now say, at the bottom of the screen "spot", showing that you have changed from
"clean house". At the top of this screen, maybe one flick in, is "settings" go
into that, flick down past the Eco and Turbo choices, and you will find
settings for "spot cleaning".

Hope this helps a bit. Re the paging thing. I find that mine has a long enough
gap between makiing the error sound, but I think it will continue to do so for
at least ten minutes. Not sure though, must try and find/read the manual!! Next
time mine gets stuck, I will see if there is a way to get a response out of it,
using the app. If all else fails, I might attach a keyfob finder thing.

Good luck,
Sandy.

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Chris Chaffin
No, it would not be because you have not updated to the latest watch OS version.
I would suspect that maybe the charger is starting to go out.

You could always restart the watch and see if that helps.
