foreign language learning apps

2016-02-17 Thread Eden
Hi, I'm getting into a lot of German musical groups, and I'd kind of like to
learn a little of the language. Is there is an app that does this. I know there
was one that was a kind of more like a game and some parts were not accessible.
I'm looking for something totally accessible as I do not wish to have fight to
make an app work right as well as learn the language. Also I would like
something to works well with a braille display. Some apps read better than
others. Thanks for any help.

Re: Frustrated with Apple Pay

2016-02-17 Thread Sarai Bucciarelli
Ok,
My phone was unlocked at the time. I was less than 2 inches away. What I cannot
confirm is if there was a message on the screen. the person who checked me out
didn’t say anything about having to press ok. So, I will see if I can try it
again. I might take it to the Apple store, just to verify it isn’t a hardware
issue. The phone is only a month old.. Plus, I want to hit the Apple store.
LOL. Awesome instructions!

RE: Frustrated with Apple Pay

2016-02-17 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Sarai,

I am sorry you have had difficulty in using Apple Pay. Rest assured that once
you get the hang of it, it will quickly become your payment method of choice.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when using Apple Pay. First,
because of various security policies, some vendors require that either you or
the cashier confirm the payment, by tapping a soft-button on the terminal,
after initiating Apple Pay. This is usually not the case but, in the case of
some vendors, it is.

Second, if you recently rebooted the phone, you must first enter your unlock
password in order to use both either the phone or Apple Pay.

So, having said this, when you're ready to use Apple Pay and assuming all is
well with your preferred credit card and, that you only have one credit card on
file for use with Apple Pay:

1.
Wait until the cashier tells you that the system is ready to accept payment.
You may also ask the cashier if he/she is ready to accept payment.

2.
With the phone locked, that is to say, with the screen turned off, place your
finger, which you use to unlock iPhone, on the HOME button as you move the
device to within 2 inches of the terminal transmitter. Be certain not to
depress the HOME button, just keep your finger on top of it until you feel a
double-vibration.

3.
At this point, the transaction should be complete, however, at certain
locations, a message will pop-up on the vendor's terminal display requiring you
to confirm the purchase. In such an instance, someone will need to tap that
button in order to complete the transaction.

Finally, and I cannot underscore this enough, it is extremely important that
you place iPhone to within 2 inches of the terminal transmitter in order to
initiate payment. Some people think that just because the credit card pops up
on the phone's display, that the transaction is in progress. It is not. If
the phone is not close enough, even though the display is awake, the
transaction will not be initiated.

Oh, while it is not necessary for the phone to first be locked in order to use
Apple Pay, I find that first time users of the payment method do better when
beginning the transaction from that state.

Good Luck,

Mark

Hi guys:
I have a new iphone 6s. I bought it for Apple pay. I cannot get it to work! I
went to Sprouts, and Petco, who have apple pay. I held my phone up to the
reader. Phone vibrated, and brought up my credit card. I touched the finger id.
nothing happened! I cannot figure it out!

Re: Great News For Dice World Players

2016-02-17 Thread Dave

Hi Kimi,

I don’t think, that this is a matter of people Moaning and Groaning!

It was just simply a feature request!

This new feature, doesn’t in any way affect, anyone who doesn’t wish to use it!

If Nick, didn’t think, this request was valid and reasonable, i am sure, he
wouldn’t have implemented it!

So, all i can say, that it is good, we have App Developers, like Nick, who care
enough, to listen to there users.

Take care,

Dave.

A Dice World beta just came out that adds a new setting to turn off random game

people submit. Watch for the update in the app store soon.

Hi, Thanks for all playing me with diceworld. I'm getting a message and not
sure how to deal with it. Whenever I get a response in a game I'm playing, I
get this "message received" message.
It appears on screen like a flash and can't locate it after that. Do I need
to use the chat button? I haven't used diceworld chat before.

Help!!

It appears on screen like a flash and can't locate it after that. Do I need

A Dice World beta just came out that adds a new setting to turn off random game
invites. This should show people that this developer is devoted to making the
users of his app happy and that he does indeed listen to the feedback that
people submit. Watch for the update in the app store soon.

Re: Blindfold Crazy Eights

I found that, but a lot of their other games offers the ability to watch videos
to earn blindfolds. When you earn 3 blindfolds, you get a coin. This one
doesn’t have that.

The crazy eights game you can find the options you have by touching get upgrade
I swiped to it. It does not come up on the screen automatically. At least, it
did not for me. Just swipe to the right and you will find it. To get unlimited
coins it is $4.99 which truly is not really bad. Just my opinion.

Hi,
The good thing with their current price model is that you can buy their
cheapest option, around 20 or so coins and then see if you want to continue
playing that game and if you want to do that, you have some options to choose
from. What i don’t like is that you actually have to buy or get coins to play
the game. However in some of the newer games they have introduced a way of
continuing to play because every time you win, you get X amount of coins.
Examples of games that work that way are Dominoes and Bingo, but of course i’d
rather pay a small price at purchase and have all the bells and whistles
already unlocked.

If you are talking about bingo from the Blindfold games series, it is
called Blindfold Bingo. The developer is Kid Friendly Software. Their
website is:

Good luck,

diceworld question

2016-02-17 Thread don bishop
Hi, Thanks for all playing me with diceworld. I'm getting a message and not
sure how to deal with it. Whenever I get a response in a game I'm playing, I
get this "message received" message.
It appears on screen like a flash and can't locate it after that. Do I need to
use the chat button? I haven't used diceworld chat before.

Help!!
Don

Folding bluetooth keyboard that can be used on the road

2016-02-17 Thread Shai
Hello,
I am looking for a folding keyboard that can be used with my iPhone6s
with VoiceOver mostly in the car. Since the device will be positioned
on my lap, I would like the device not to fold in while I am typing.
Additionally, I would prefer that the keyboard have a rechargeable
battery internal to it.
Would anyone happen to have a recommendation?
Thank you in advance for any responses

Re: Blindfold Crazy Eights

2016-02-17 Thread Regina Alvarado
The crazy eights game you can find the options you have by touching get upgrade
I swiped to it. It does not come up on the screen automatically. At least, it
did not for me. Just swipe to the right and you will find it. To get unlimited
coins it is $4.99 which truly is not really bad. Just my opinion.

don't see that in this particular game.

Hi,
The good thing with their current price model is that you can buy their
cheapest option, around 20 or so coins and then see if you want to continue
playing that game and if you want to do that, you have some options to choose

Microsoft has a folable keyboard that works with two devices at once. It is a

Re: Why do we want to use a physical keyboard?

2016-02-17 Thread Angie Nutt
Hi,

I didn’t use a bluetooth keyboard until 6 months after getting my first iPhone;
I was determined to get used to the onscreen one. Even now I only use a
hardware keyboard to type long documents. My present one is too big for what I
call my going away handbag so I no longer take it on holiday with me.

This morning I used it for Facebook and Twitter thinking I’d be quicker but
found I made quite a few mistakes. That’s probably because I don’t use it daily.

All the best

Yes, I have an iClever IC-BK03 foldable keyboard. It folds right up but is
full-sized and great for typing on for long periods. It gets very good reviews
for good reason. I got mine on special a few months back from Amazon.

Re: Why do we want to use a physical keyboard?

2016-02-17 Thread Gordan Radić

Hi!
I'm using iOS devices for more than three years now and when I
started I was only using the virtual keyboard in iOS. Soon after I
purchased my first iPhone I discovered Braille Touch and some months
after I discovered MBraille.
Maybe a year or so after I got my iPhone I got the Apple Wireless
Keyboard and I tried to work with it.
And, I didn't like it. First of all, it is huge, almost like a
standard PC keyboard without the numeric block, I had to learn tones
of shortcuts to do anything besides typing text and suddenly I
wasn't feeling like I'm using a phone. Sorry, but using the phone
with external keyboard is not the way I used to operate the phone.
So, I concluded I certainly will not carry that keyboard around with
me, it was five or more times size of my 4S and whenever I'm out of
my home I'll need to use virtual or Braille keyboards so I decided
to stick only to them. Smaller external keyboard doesn't have sense
to me because if I can't type with all my fingers I can use the
virtual one anyways. These days I have a small portrait virtual
keyboard, a large one with extended keys in landscape mode, I have
MBraille, I have Braille Screen Input and Siri and Dictation so, I
can enter the text in several ways without the external devices and
which way I use depends on situation I'm in. It's been over three
years I do this, I can confirm it is more than doable and nobody I
know personally uses the external keyboard with their iPhones.
Of course, i certainly won't advocate against it, if someone likes
to use it it is his or her decision but for those who are unceartain
if they need it or not this is just an opinion to look at.

  Hi,
I think it is interesting with all the viewpoints
that come up. I guess though that i’ll never be able to fully
grasp why someone skips over the internal keyboard for an
external one. I for my part, would be totally screaming mad if
for any reason my physical keyboard would break and i had to
fall back on the internal one and if i couldn’t manage it. Don’t
get me wrong here, please, but wouldn’t it be good to have
something to fall back on just in case?
I can understand if someone wants to use another
input method than the standard one for longish texts, like blogs
and the like, i don’t say anything about that, but i myself am
feeling more confident knowing i have many options to fall back
on should one not work. Hope this didn’t come through too
criticising or something, i just want to try to understand this.
