iPhone 7 lightening port and audio

So this started happening on my iPhone after getting the update to 10.2. I plug in the ear buds or regular head phones using the adapter. I pull up iheart radio or apple music and listen to some music. Everything works fine until I hit the home button or sometimes when I stop the music. At
