RE: Deleting all messages in inbox at once

2017-05-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You can set it to even sync only the last week and I think even the last 3 days
only. Just go to Mail settings and into the settings for your account and take
a look.
On the other hand if you use a computer and a phone you really might want to
look into whether your mail provider supports IMAP, take the time to clean up
your mailbox once and going forward it will be much less of a headache.

unfortunately, you cannot delete all the messages in your inbox at once.
You may be able to set it so it only syncs the last 30 days of emails instead
of everything.

RE: 2 factor authentication on pc

2017-05-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Joe,

Are you adding the 6-digit code on to the end of your password? This is rarely
necessary, as Mark pointed out, iTunes should prompt you for this code after
you enter your Apple Id and regular password. As soon as you enter the first
digit of the code focus automaticlaly jumps to the second digit etc. I think
after entering the last one you may have to tab to OK or soething like that.

Hello Joe,

I'm not certain of what you are experiencing but I can tell you that two-factor
authentication does work in Windows 7 and Windows 10, in iTunes.

I have not attempted to read the 6-digit entry field with Jaws. I tend to use
Zoomtext on my Windows Desktop computers so cannot speak to the screen reader
accessability of the UI but I can say for certain that the entry field does
appear after one enters his/her Apple ID and Password.

Just so you know, one can disable 2-factor authentication via a web browser at:
http://appleid.apple.com.

Just so you understand, with 2-factor enabled, one must begin the login
sequence as usual, by entering an Apple ID and password. Then, if this is done
correctly, en entry UI appears with 6 blank spots in which one is to enter the
6-digit security code that was sent to an authorized device. If a device is
not available, then one can choose to have the code sent to a trusted phone via
SMS.

Now when the code is sent to an authorized device, it will appear as a small
dialog box that you must explore-by-touch to understand.

The process can seem a bit overwhelming the first time but one quickly becomes
accustomed to the procedure.

No matter how many times I do this, I can not access my account to download

Whatever Itunes or account event i initiate, whether it's authroizing the

Doesn't matter which screen reader is in use at the time. I'm hoping to have a

that would be good.

I'd even like to turn off 2 factor authentication, but I bet you can't do that.

Or modify it, say so that when you tell the authorized device to allow access

Or even the answer to a security question, but where to enter the data, that
appears to be the issue.

Many thanks.

Yes, iOS overdrive audio books can be sped up to twice the normal playback

iOS iBook or BARD as one selects the playback rate from a menu instead of
having to repeatedly tapping the rate button in order to make a change.

Yu can read non DRM ePub files with Voice Dream Reader. Or, join Bookshare and
access their books with Voice Dream Reader.
But, as Mark said, if you are wanting eBooks from a library, they are not
accessible.
Bookshare, for $50 per year has more eBooks than you will ever read and many
are the same ones that you could buy through Kindle, Nook, iBooks, since they
get much of their material directly from the publishers.
As of today, their web site says they have "550,000 titles s and counting!"

Hello Husna,

While I enjoy audio books, every day on my iPhone via the Over Drive app,
currently, it is not possible to read eBooks via Over Drive when VoiceOver is
enabled.

Be that as it may, I strongly recommend the iOS Over Drive app to anyone who
enjoys Audible audiobook content, as they use the exact same files, though the
cover art may differ.

For example, I have downloaded over 30 audiobooks via Over Drive since the
start of the year, absolutely free. Of course, these titles are made available
via the public library system and, as such, one can listen to them for the
allotted checkout time. In my case, that is 21 days. Still, it beats paying
20+ dollars or more for an audio book that I will most likely only listen to,
once. And of course, I can check out the books anytime they are available or
be placed on an automatic waist list.

Should you decide to use Over Drive for audio books, be sure to join as many of
your local libraries as possible so that you will have the widest selection of
titles. For example, sometimes, I will search for a title that is not
available in one library but is available at another.

Good luck and enjoy,

Mark

Here's the problem.
I need to authorize a windows based computer for my itunes account.

So I get to the point where apple send a code to my phone.
The instructions say to enter your password followed by the 6 digit code.

No matter how many times I do this, I can not access my account to download
purchasses that are on my phone, but I want them in my pc music library.

Whatever Itunes or account event i initiate, whether it's authroizing the
machine, making a purchase, viewing my account, the code is not working.

Doesn't matter which screen reader is in use at the time. I'm hoping to have a
friend take a look on the screen to see if some important pop up area is not
being viewed by the screen reader. But if someone knows a work around this,
that would be good.

I'd even like to turn off 2 factor authentication, but I bet you can't do that.

Or modify it, say so that when you tell the authorized device to allow access
from the unauthorized device, that would be sifficient.

Or even the answer to a security question, but where to enter the data, that
appears to be the issue.

Many thanks.

Joe

hi,
honestly, 2 things that come in mind, OK, 3 that stand out.
1] iMessage. free messaging without third party apps is great.
2] the quality of faceTime, I still find the best out there.
3] on screen braille, I couldn't get to work on android at all, and
while it could be me, I have to rate apple for it as of now.

RE: Item Chooser

2017-05-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Yes, this is something I also did not know, but ti does work on web pages.
As for using the item chooser elsewhere, if you are at the search field and
flick right once you are on the table index, here you can now flick up or down
with one finger to move through the items in alphabetic order. It’s a bit
different as, for example, in Contacts, where you get to the table index by
touching the very right side of the screen.

If you open up a Web page in Safari, and invoke the item chooser, then when you
do a three finger flick to the right, you will get a choice of links, headings,
or form controls. With one of those in focus, when your right or left flick
with one finger, you will move them on the items of that particular type,
although the actual heading link or form control will not be announced as such.
You'll just hear the words, not the type of control. Since there aren't
headings on the home screen or form controls, or probably links, it's
understandable why this would have no effect in that case.

I am posting the content of 2 messages I have saved from the list regarding the

Message #1:

Did you know once you bring up item chooser via 2 finger triple tap, you can
then 3 finger swipe left or right to focus on headings, links, form controls,
or all items? I had know idea!!! I just thought I'd give it a whirl, and
lookie there! Surprize

Now when you perform a search in Safari, you can bring up item chooser and 3
finger swipe right/left to only show the headings.

Message #2:
As for doing a search for a particular item on the screen, you want to invoke
the item chooser. The gesture for this is a 2-finger triple tap.
I suggest again to practice on the home screen. If you have a full home-screen
(20 apps) Plus 4 in the dock, a 2-finger triple tap on the home screen would
have 24 items in the item chooser. They would be sorted in alphabetical order
and at the top of the screen is also a search box and as you type something
there it narrows down the results.
For example, If you have the Camera, Camfind, Calculator, Calendar and Music
apps on the home screen and typed a “C” these 4 apps would be the only ones
left. If you now typed an “A” only Calendar, Camera and Camfind would be left,
now type a “M” and only Camera and Camfind are left etc.
Whatever letter or letter combination you type is what iOS displays, but it
does not have to be at the beginning of the app name hence if you type a “C”
also “Music” shows up in the list because it has a “c” in it at the end.

Hi all. I'm reading a book on a refreshabraille 18 and using IBooks to read

Re: Coding training

2017-05-21 Thread Ben Mustill-Rose
Hi,

YEs - it's possible to make money from programming, but if you have no
experience that's going to be a ery very long journy.
There's an app called Tickle which is accessible but I don't think
iDevices are the best place to learn. I'd suggest you install Python
on a computer, try to solve a problem you have & most importantly,
don't ask any Python related questions on this list as they will be
off topic.

Good luck & have fun,
Ben.

Re: Item Chooser

2017-05-21 Thread Mary Otten
If you open up a Web page in Safari, and invoke the item chooser, then when you
do a three finger flick to the right, you will get a choice of links, headings,
or form controls. With one of those in focus, when your right or left flick
with one finger, you will move them on the items of that particular type,
although the actual heading link or form control will not be announced as such.
You'll just hear the words, not the type of control. Since there aren't
headings on the home screen or form controls, or probably links, it's
understandable why this would have no effect in that case.

I am posting the content of 2 messages I have saved from the list regarding
the item chooser. Thanks to Chris and Sieghard.

If you have a full
home-screen (20 apps) Plus 4 in the dock, a 2-finger triple tap on the home
screen would have 24 items in the item chooser. They would be sorted in
alphabetical order and at the top of the screen is also a search box and as you
type something there it narrows down the results.

The other didn't work for me either. However, I found my mistake. I was not
focused on the adjustable table index, but on specific items. It works exactly
like you said. You have to make sure that you are not focused on a specific

However, if you start at the top and do a one finger flick right to the Table

Keep in mind that when reduced motion is off you can't use iMessage effects. Also,
it make no difference with respect to how sensitive the screen is etc. If you are
maybe referring to the phone unlocking when you move it then you need to turn off
raise to wake in Settings > Display and Brightness.

Re: Apology for the other message, some crafting Kingdom questions

2017-05-21 Thread Chris Chaffin
Hello Wren,

I will do my best to answer your questions, but first let me tell you a little
about the goal of the game.
The goal of Crafting Kingdom is to expand your estate to its maximum size while
using quest rewards and boost to help achieve this quicker. To expand your
estate each time, you will need 3 things, a particular number of 2 products,
like 400 timber and 400 grain, and a particular amount of gold. These required
amounts will increase each time you expand your estate.
It is not required to purchase all of the properties and unlock all of its
products in order to expand your estate or get the rewards from the quest you
have completed. Most people look at their current quest and what they need on
their current estate expansion, and just work on completing those task. For
example, for my next estate expansion, I need 1200 Armor, 1200 Silver Bar, and
1 Million in gold. Since I know it will take a while to save 1 million in
gold, I am currently working on my quest to help me save the 1 million in gold
quicker. Once you complete quest and claim the rewards, those quest will be
replaced with new ones.
Keep im mind to retrieve your quest rewards, you have to reset the game. When
resetting the game, you do not lose everything. You mainly lose 3 things, all
properties purchased, all products unlocked, and any gold yu currently have on
hand. The purpose of the quest and there rewards is to help you achieve things
quicker. For example, a reward can decrease the price of unlocking products,
increase the gold you get when selling a product, increase the speed a product
is produced, and increase your boost or automation time.
Boost can be extremely helpful and also help you achieve something in the game
quicker. To answer one of your questions, yes, you can use multiple boost at
the same time no matter what they are. So you can use the salesman boost up to
4 times at the same time getting a total of a 40% increase for what you sell
all products for.
In regards to your estate, it does not have to be unlocked, and neither does
the princess. For each day you go into the princess and accept the gift, it
will increase your sell pricess by 2%. This will continue until it reaches
100%.
Your estate will just give you information about your estate and what is needed
to do your next expansion.

As far as fishing rods, the metal parts needed actually come from the
BlackSmith property. So to make fishing rods, you will have to own 5
properties, the Lumberyard, The farm, The Cory, the Furnace, and the Blacksmith.
It takes 3 properties to make metal parts. To make metal parts here are the
steps:
You will need 1 Coal and 1 Iron Ore from the Cory to make 1 metal from the
furnace.
Then it will take 1 metal from the furnace to make 1 metal part from the
Blacksmith.
So as you can tell, it will take some money and time in order to produce
fishing rods. So unless it is for a quest or to expand your estate, I would
not worry about fishing rods at this point. Just concentrate on your quest and
your estate expansion. Remember, that is the goal of the game.

I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have about the game.
Good luck!

Chris

I am posting the content of 2 messages I have saved from the list regarding the
item chooser. Thanks to Chris and Sieghard.

Whatever letter or letter combination you type is what iOS displays, but it
does not have to be at the beginning of the app name hence if you type a “C”
also “Music” shows up in the list because it has a “c” in it at the end.

gesture for item list

2017-05-21 Thread Vicki
Good Morning,

When using the item list chooser, I thought that you could get to the
alphabetized index by flicking down and to the items by flicking right.

When I am on an item, if I flick down now, it just gives me the options for
actions on that item rather than going to the next letter for the items under
that letter.

Is there another gesture to accomplish that?

Thanks.

Vicki

Re: Convince me guys IOS or no IOS

2017-05-21 Thread MamaPeach
I haven’t used it in a while as my screen stopped working, so I could not ask
for any kind of visual help with anything. Tried finding somewhere to repair
the screen, but that was a no go, no one had the parts to fix it. It was an
older version of Android and it would not update to a newer version. I think
the tablet that I was using was Android 5.1, but I am not sure as it is totally
dead now. I am sure they have improved it since then, but it was so frustrating
that I just will stick to using my IOS device.

Hello, add a curiosity, when is the last time you tried android? What version
of android was it, what version to talk back, and how long did you keep the
android device?

Overdrive Question, was Re: Reading epub eBooks on overdrive on IPhone

2017-05-21 Thread Arnold Schmidt
An overdrive question: Can books be speeded up? As of a few years ago, they
could not be. Although I don't listen to books as fast as some do, listening at
regular speed, unless it is extremely well read, is, well, a drag to me. Thanks
for any information.

I love Bookshare. But I have also found that, in Overdrive, some ebooks are

of the book, I don't recall if this is before or after it is borrowed, but I
think it is before, an option appears asking if you want the Kindle or Epub
version. A librarian has told me that not all ebooks are offered in a Kindle
version, though, so if you try and can't find it, don't give up that other
ebooks may be offered in Kindle format. How much of this may be Library

As of today, their web site says they have "550,000 titles s
 and counting!"

Mark

How long is this thread, going on?

You are asking on an iPhone list. are you also asking the same question on an

I Think you should have a fair idea, of which opperating system, you wish to
try by now?. if you still can’t make your mind up, then Maybe get an old Nokia,
with talks.

Wayne, you cannot always believe what you read. As other who have both say on
the list, Android and iOS are extremely close. If you've only used one device,
it is hard to make him a fair bases or comparison. Also if you've only used one
device and then switch to another device, there is still a curve of learning. I
love both operating systems. If I went back to android, I would love it as much
as I love my iOS device. Everyone has a preference, unfortunately android guess
a lot worse wrap then anything else.
My advice, try both see what works for what you do. Don't let anyone else
convince you to go with another device instead go with what you like best.
Again try both use both give each a fair chance and then make your own decision.

Michael Maslo
