RE: Here is a Fabulous Pill Reminder App for iOS that is 100% VoiceOver Accessible

2019-07-08 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Alan,

As I stated in a previous post, I have not experienced any app crashes when
running in iOS 12.x.

To upgrade to the full version on iPhone:

1.
Open the App. If you're running the app on a plus size phone, there will be 5
buttons located on the bottom row of the display. They are, from left to
right, Medications, Reminders, Calendar, Refills, and More.

2.
Single-finger, double-tap the More button. The buttons on the bottom row will
change to the following, from left to right: Appointments, Reports, As Needed,
and More.

3.
Single-finger, double-tap the More button. The buttons on the bottom row will
change to the following, from left to right: Users, Options, and More.

4.
Select the Options button. A list of options will fill the display. Explore
this list until you come across the one that allows you to upgrade to the full
version.

Richard,

I'm with you. While I very much appreciate Mark telling us about this app, I
find it is crashing very often and I have added a pill to it and it is still
crashing. If I place focus on the bottomline menu at the far right and start
swiping left to cycle through the option buttons, when the last button on the
left is passed on a swipe left, the app closes. I believe I also experienced it
closing when swiping through option buttons at the top of the main screen after
getting to the last button on the right and swiping right one more time.

I did find where you can do the in app purchase from the free version. At the
far right of the bottomline menu is a more button. When executed, it places
another set of bottomline buttons on the screen. If you press the more button
on this second set of buttons, yet another set of buttons opens on the
bottomline menu. I believe the options button is included on this third set and
it opens a screen where you can purchase the upgrade. I don't believe I will be
purchasing it now based on my experience.

I'm using an iPhone 8 running the latest iOS version.

Hello Richard,

I am truly surprised to learn that the app crashes on your system even after
adding data. Are you running the latest version of iOS? I ask because a new
version of the app was just released earlier this week and it is rock solid.

I have installed this app on 3 different phones, all running VoiceOver and all
running the latest version of iOS 12.x; and the app does not crash after having
entered data.

I hope you have contacted the developer.

I am attempting to use this app. I find it still unstable. It closes often,
even when I confine most of my activity to the area at the bottom of the screen.

I have entered two medications and their reminders. What circumstance triggers
a prompt for payment from within the app? No notice has appeared and I cannot
find another route to in-app purchase.

Thanks to all.

And unless I am mistaken I think in the description it mentioned that in the

Hello Arlene,

Keep in mind that adding a medication to the app and creating a reminder as to
when to takethat medication are two separate actions.

So, one you add a particular medication, all you need do is to select the done
button located near the upper right corner of the display.

The next step will be to open the reminders section of the app and from there,
you will select the name of the medication that you added in the previous step.
Fill in the reminder preferences and remember to activate the Save button,
located near the upper right corner of the display.

Now, close the app. This is to say, remove it from active memory. It is not
necessary to do this, on a normal basis, but in order for me to be certain that
you see what I want you to see, it is best that you do so.

Now, when you reopen the app, you will see your newly added reminder.

Mark,we really love this pill reminder app. We need a bit of help with it.
We can't get the reminder we created to save completely. It lets us know that
we need to add the medication of which we did. On each item of setting up the
reminder, the dosage, the pill name, how often you take it and other things you
need to fill out, do you need to save on each of those things, besides tapping
on the done button? It doesn't seem to work. We're probably missing something,
and at that could be something so simple to make it work. And that's it it's
so completely accessible and even though we haven't quite got this figured out
it seems very easy. So thanks for some guidance with this, and thank you, for
telling us about such a great and useful app you found.

Hello Everyone,

I found this incredibly VoiceOver accessible pill reminder app.

The app works just as described in its description. The developer even
mentions VoiceOver in his description. Those of you with Apple watches are
going to love this app, especially if you have silent reminders enabled.

Now there is one VoiceOver glitch that you will encounter only when you have
no data in the app. I suspect that this is why the developer has not caught
it because once you have any data in the app, whatsoever, the glitch goes
away, completely.

So, when you first launch the app, you will be prompted to allow
notifications. No problem there. Once you reach the default screen, the
display tells you that you

Thank you for your help. I do appreciate it.

I did look at the book. It is 1 file. I played it for about 5 minutes,

Thank you again for attempting to help me.

Hi.

I’m trying to cut costs a lot here to pay for a Focus braille display, and I
decided to go with the DirecTV Now app on my Apple TV. I can get the app to
load, but that’s about it. Is there a way I can tell the app to go to a local
channel, assuming it’s available and watch it? The guide would be nice, but I
can work around that for now. I know there are other devices that may work
better with it, but since I have the Apple TV, it’s what I’ll use for now. I
haven’t used this thing for a couple of years, so I ought to be doing that.

Thanks in advance for the help.

It sounds to me as if the sound is in the book, not something from Voice Dream
Reader. Can you listen another way?
The setting I am talking about is in the audio settings after the voice, you
should find Advanced Audio settings.
But, with your further description, I suspect it is just in the book.
If you do not hear it with other books ...

Is there a way to go to different channels in the DirecTV Now app on the Apple TV with Siri, or at least find them on the screen and watch them?

2019-07-08 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi.

I'm trying to cut costs a lot here to pay for a Focus braille display, and I
decided to go with the DirecTV Now app on my Apple TV. I can get the app to
load, but that's about it. Is there a way I can tell the app to go to a local
channel, assuming it's available and watch it? The guide would be nice, but I
can work around that for now. I know there are other devices that may work
better with it, but since I have the Apple TV, it's what I'll use for now. I
haven't used this thing for a couple of years, so I ought to be doing that.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If so, open a book, double tap on audio settings at the top, then find advanced

Then see if this setting is set to on, and if so turn it off.Play Sound When

Re: Here is a Fabulous Pill Reminder App for iOS that is 100% VoiceOver Accessible

2019-07-08 Thread Les Kriegler
Hi all,

I share your sentiments about the app crashing often. It’s took me quite a
while to be able to pay for the app, but it was possible. Unfortunately, I’m
not certain which tab I chose. Perhaps Mark can tell you that. But I have mine
working now. I did add one reminder and I still have some difficulty initially.
So keep at it and I’m pretty sure you’ll find a way to purchase the app. It
might be on the first tab itself, but again, hopefully Mark will tell you for
certain.

Terri, if you use Facebook, and have not turned off background app refresh,
Facebook, especially messenger will continue giving you notifications in the
background while you're doing other stuff.

For an easy fix, you can turn off notifications for Facebook and Facebook
messenger, unless you want to receive those notifications, in which case,
there's nothing you can really do.

Subject: Questions regarding voice dream reader, and a new problem.

Hello everyone,

Are use voice dream reader all the time, to read audiobooks, and to view
other files. Eventually, I plan to try to read PDF files, or EPUB files. But
I don’t know when I might start doing this. Anyway, I have noticed an odd
problem with Voice Dream reader, in the last few days. I wanted to find out
if anyone might know what’s causing this. Or if anyone else has experienced
it. For instance, when I start reading one of my audiobooks, I start
getting these chiming sounds throughout my reading. The file plays fine.
There does not seem to be any other problems that I can tell.
However, the chime is usually a single chime, and can be infrequent. It can
vary in how often it happens. The chime does change every once in a while.
Sometimes a double chime will play, almost sounding like a doorbell.

So I was wondering, is anyone else experiencing anything like this?
Why might this be happening? And what can I do about it?

It’s rather annoying, and if I can stop it from happening I would like to do
so.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

RE: Here is a Fabulous Pill Reminder App for iOS that is 100% VoiceOver Accessible

2019-07-08 Thread Richard Petty
I am attempting to use this app. I find it still unstable. It closes often,
even when I confine most of my activity to the area at the bottom of the screen.

I have entered two medications and their reminders. What circumstance triggers
a prompt for payment from within the app? No notice has appeared and I cannot
find another route to in-app purchase.

Thanks to all.

Hello Arlene,

Keep in mind that adding a medication to the app and creating a reminder as
to when to takethat medication are two separate actions.

So, one you add a particular medication, all you need do is to select the
done button located near the upper right corner of the display.

The next step will be to open the reminders section of the app and from
there, you will select the name of the medication that you added in the
previous step. Fill in the reminder preferences and remember to activate
the Save button, located near the upper right corner of the display.

Now, close the app. This is to say, remove it from active memory. It is
not necessary to do this, on a normal basis, but in order for me to be
certain that you see what I want you to see, it is best that you do so.

Now, when you reopen the app, you will see your newly added reminder.

Mark,we really love this pill reminder app. We need a bit of help with it.
We can't get the reminder we created to save completely. It lets us know
that we need to add the medication of which we did. On each item of setting
up the reminder, the dosage, the pill name, how often you take it and other
things you need to fill out, do you need to save on each of those things,
besides tapping on the done button? It doesn't seem to work. We're probably
missing something, and at that could be something so simple to make it
work. And that's it it's so completely accessible and even though we haven't
quite got this figured out it seems very easy. So thanks for some guidance
with this, and thank you, for telling us about such a great and useful app
you found.

Once you reach the default screen, the
display tells you that you have no data in the app, Touching the center of
the screen, while voiceover is enabled, causes the app to crash. This is
the same on iPad. On iPhone, the buttons to use the app are located on the
bottom row of the display. On iPad, these buttons are located down the left
side of the display.

Simply activate any of these buttons, for example, select the reminders,
tab, enter even a temporary medicine name, and the empty screen message goes
away and all is perfect.

I know this sounds kind of weird but do not let that small glitch stop you
from downloading the free version of the app. By the way, for the full
version, you must pay $1.99, inside the app.

Please notify the developer about the VoiceOver glitch and I’m certain he
will

Hi!
For the past many years, I have been using the native reminders app in the
iPhone to remind me about my pills. I take about 10 pills a day! And it works
very well.
I can even tell Siri to add a reminder!
At sometime, I have to take four pills together, so I use one reminder
mentioning the names of all the four bills and set it for every day!
What will be the advantage of this application over the native reminders app? I
wonder 樂
