Yeah I’ve gone from buying yearly to buying / upgrading every 2 years if I can 
afford it,

So I don’t see myself upgrading to the 11s or 12 what evr it’s called this year 
but then the way things are going I’ll more likely purchase what ever the lower 
end of next years range is, like the 11 last year possibly the 12 or 13

Can’t see the point now in paying 2 thousand dollars when I can get the pretty 
much same quality device for half the price

Sorry, but I don’t understand that constant urge many people have to get rid of 
a high-end device which probably works absolutely perfectly well and in many 
cases does a lot more than what people need just to buy the next high-end 
device a year or year and a half later.
OK, maybe I qualify this by saying that once upon a time 8 or 10 years ago it 
sometimes might have made sense when these devices were in their early stages 
of development and often much larger advancements were made from one year to 
the next. I also bought an iPhone 4S in 2011 just a year after I bought an 
iPhone 4, but the 4S had SIRI which at the time was a big deal.
Every time you do this you loose hundreds of Dollars especially with an 
expensive product such as the iPad Pro and often I have observed that some of 
the people who do this are the ones who also mention how they really can’t 
afford it. Now with COVID-19 the world is going into a huge recession which, in 
the best case scenario, might be a short one as long as the virus is gotten 
under control and a vaccine is found in the next 8 to 12 months, but I think if 
there is a time when it’s necessary to save that is now. Sure, one could argue 
that spending stimulates the economy, but even if Apple is hit hard by this for 
a couple of years, they won’t be in any danger and can easily weather the 
storm, if you want to spend money do so at small businesses or restaurants 
locally as they are the ones who need the support most.
Now, just to wrap this up, please don’t think I am trying to tell you what to 
do or that I actually disapprove. What I said above is simply an opinion and 
you can of course proceed as you see fit and, in any case, I only used your 
situation as an example, but I really did mean to include all who constantly 
upgrade to the latest device each year just for the sake of having the latest 
and not because their device from a year or two ago doesn’t work any more.

The thing is anythings easy to break if you try hard enough.

I suspect it will be announced Tuesday via press release.  Everything has been 
announced on or before schedule.  They can still ship and that is how you will 
get your new phone.  I saw a forbs article that there will be a IOS 13.4.1 to 
fix bugs in 13.4

I’m sure I want the iPhone SE/9.  The problem is” is the 9 still coming out.

The risk as I see it, is just that the 8 may be discontinued and the SE/9 may

Now I'm restoring the icloud backup I did today.

Well, then I am not sure, I thought maybe if it was a phone without a home 
button and in a case that the side button was stuck or the case somehow was 
pressing on it.

I have an iPhone 8 as well and have no issues.

I would still make sure the screen is clean and, if you have a screen protector 
on it maybe take it off and replace it with a new one.

Before doing a full factory reset I would first try a Reset Network Settings as 
follows:

1. Open app switcher and make sure all apps are closed

2. Maybe turn off screen curtain just for a bit while you do this as well

3. Go to Settings > General > Reset

3. Swipe to Reset Network Settings and double tap, confirm when asked if you 
want to do this and then wait for the phone to restart.

 

After the phone restarts you will have to login to your WiFi again since it 
will reset all WiFi connections and remembered passwords.

Also, if your phone has a name such as Afik’s iPhone or Afik’s iPhone 8, you 
have to go to Settings > General > About and in the first field double tap on 
the name which during a reset network settings is reset to just “iPhone”. Once 
you double tap on this you can erase this and type in the name you want, then 
find the “Done” button at the bottom right of the keyboard and double tap it.

I am a beta tester and have not seen any bugs related to a strange restart 
orVoiceover suggesting that the screen curtain is on.  I'd like to see if you 
could try to perform these steps please if you can.  If you can't please use a 
computer to perform the steps.

 

I am going to ask you to try and back up your files and apps as I want to try a 
factory reset.

 

Here are the steps for the phone;

 

1.  Go to Settings.

 

2.  Go to Genral.

 

3.  Please go to Reset and then to Erase all Contents and Settings.

 

Please let me know if you need the instructions for doing this same procedure 
from the computer.  I hope this helps your issue and have a great weekend.

What’s fascinating about this, is my phone was not doing this for a couple of 
days after Alan brought this up, and suddenly began saying yestertay a day or 
so ago.
It doesn’t matter the voice combination after all.
So, maybe apple can figure out what suddenly caused the change.
My guess is it is something on their servers.

I’m not going to fix it so that if it actually is fixed by Apple, I’ll know it 
when I happen to come across that word.

I have an iPhhone 8 and my default voice is Samantha the regular not enhanced. 
It says "yestertay" instead of "yesterday." This morning for kicks I tried the 
Siri female voice and Susan Enhanced, and "yesterday" was still pronounced 
"yestertay." So I am concluding that it doesn't matter what voice you use, this 
must be some basic algorithm problem. Since it is annoying, I just might have 
to give in and change the ⠏⠗⠕⠝⠥⠝⠉⠊⠠⠝⠲ Oh well!

You may also want to change the Siri Language under Siri Settings to something 
other than American English.  Not sure if that matters, but that was a work 
around to get rid of the stupid transcriptions on voice mail.
If it still mispronounces yesterday, go to the VoiceOver Speech settings, 
pronunciation.
Add yesterday spelled correctly and in the substitution edit field, spell it 
with u r instead of e r so yesturday
I also make sure it is set to apply to all languages.

I noticed it with the default Samantha bvoice also. I changed the spelling in

Well, then I am not sure, I thought maybe if it was a phone without a home 
button and in a case that the side button was stuck or the case somehow was 
pressing on it.
I have an iPhone 8 as well and have no issues.
I would still make sure the screen is clean and, if you have a screen protector 
on it maybe take it off and replace it with a new one.
Before doing a full factory reset I would first try a Reset Network Settings as 
follows:
1. Open app switcher and make sure all apps are closed
2. Maybe turn off screen curtain just for a bit while you do this as well
3. Go to Settings > General > Reset
3. Swipe to Reset Network Settings and double tap, confirm when asked if you 
want to do this and then wait for the phone to restart.

After the phone restarts you will have to login to your WiFi again since it 
will reset all WiFi connections and remembered passwords.
Also, if your phone has a name such as Afik’s iPhone or Afik’s iPhone 8, you 
have to go to Settings > General > About and in the first field double tap on 
the name which during a reset network settings is reset to just “iPhone”. Once 
you double tap on this you can erase this and type in the name you want, then 
find the “Done” button at the bottom right of the keyboard and double tap it.

I am a beta tester and have not seen any bugs related to a strange restart 
orVoiceover suggesting that the screen curtain is on.  I'd like to see if you 
could try to perform these steps please if you can.  If you can't please use a 
computer to perform the steps.



I am going to ask you to try and back up your files and apps as I want to try a 
factory reset.



Here are the steps for the phone;



1.  Go to Settings.



2.  Go to Genral.



3.  Please go to Reset and then to Erase all Contents and Settings.



Please let me know if you need the instructions for doing this same procedure 
from the computer.  I hope this helps your issue and have a great weekend.

Sorry, but I don’t understand that constant urge many people have to get rid of 
a high-end device which probably works absolutely perfectly well and in many 
cases does a lot more than what people need just to buy the next high-end 
device a year or year and a half later.
OK, maybe I qualify this by saying that once upon a time 8 or 10 years ago it 
sometimes might have made sense when these devices were in their early stages 
of development and often much larger advancements were made from one year to 
the next. I also bought an iPhone 4S in 2011 just a year after I bought an 
iPhone 4, but the 4S had SIRI which at the time was a big deal.
Every time you do this you loose hundreds of Dollars especially with an 
expensive product such as the iPad Pro and often I have observed that some of 
the people who do this are the ones who also mention how they really can’t 
afford it. Now with COVID-19 the world is going into a huge recession which, in 
the best case scenario, might be a short one as long as the virus is gotten 
under control and a vaccine is found in the next 8 to 12 months, but I think if 
there is a time when it’s necessary to save that is now. Sure, one could argue 
that spending stimulates the economy, but even if Apple is hit hard by this for 
a couple of years, they won’t be in any danger and can easily weather the 
storm, if you want to spend money do so at small businesses or restaurants 
locally as they are the ones who need the support most.
Now, just to wrap this up, please don’t think I am trying to tell you what to 
do or that I actually disapprove. What I said above is simply an opinion and 
you can of course proceed as you see fit and, in any case, I only used your 
situation as an example, but I really did mean to include all who constantly 
upgrade to the latest device each year just for the sake of having the latest 
and not because their device from a year or two ago doesn’t work any more.

The thing is anythings easy to break if you try hard enough.

I suspect it will be announced Tuesday via press release.  Everything has been 
announced on or before schedule.  They can still ship and that is how you will 
get your new phone.  I saw a forbs article that there will be a IOS 13.4.1 to 
fix bugs in 13.4

The risk you run with waiting if Apple discontinues the iPhone 8 once the 9

I had a phone do this after taking to Apple to get the battery replaced.  
Something else went wrong and they ended up giving me a replacement iPhone SE.

I wonder if your battery has been draining rapidly and this may indicate 
something is very wrong with the battery?  Just guessing.

Time to get in touch with Apple, which I know is not always convenient, 
especially right now.

Normally in these situations a full restore will usually solve the problem.  
When Apple asks you if you want to backup though try that if that still gives 
you problems then go ahead and tell Apple you want to set your phone up as a 
new phone.

When I first upgraded to 13.4 voiceover kept muting it self and I had to 
restart the phone to get speech back after about three or four hours the 
problems seem to go away and, knock on wood, it has not come back in the last 
24 hours. Maybe your problem will go away after a few hours.

I had a phone do this after taking to Apple to get the battery replaced.  
Something else went wrong and they ended up giving me a replacement iPhone SE.
I wonder if your battery has been draining rapidly and this may indicate 
something is very wrong with the battery?  Just guessing.
Time to get in touch with Apple, which I know is not always convenient, 
especially right now.

When Apple asks you if you want to backup though try that if that still gives 
you problems then go ahead and tell Apple you want to set your phone up as a 
new phone.

I am a beta tester and have not seen any bugs related to a strange restart 
orVoiceover suggesting that the screen curtain is on.  I'd like to see if you 
could try to perform these steps please if you can.  If you can't please use a 
computer to perform the steps.

 

I am going to ask you to try and back up your files and apps as I want to try a 
factory reset.

 

Here are the steps for the phone;

 

1.  Go to Settings.

 

2.  Go to Genral.

 

3.  Please go to Reset and then to Erase all Contents and Settings.

 

Please let me know if you need the instructions for doing this same procedure 
from the computer.  I hope this helps your issue and have a great weekend.

strange bug in ios 13.4

Hi all,

 

I have a strange bug since upgrading to 13.4. 

Every time I'm using my phone,  voice over kept saying every few seconds
screen curtain on, and restarts itself every few seconds. 

 

Its not happened on spacifics apps, its happends always, again, since
upgrading to 13.4. 

 

Does any body have this bug also?

When you receive a notification, instead of the notification making itself 
disappear, it remains onscreen, until you discard it via flick up. I thought it 
would be fixed on iOS13.4, but still not!

How many people will really do this or think others will do that for me I am a 
lazy frog and reckon on others I do not pretend you are lazy but as Sieghard 
says this is in the importance of the whole community! It is not about you you 
are right we are all nice people only Corona is not grin; it is about everyone

Sadly it is still present, at least on my iPHone SE. I would’ve hoped they

Hi Steve,

First of all on your iOS device under Accessibility turn on the Audio
Description.
Now open up Netflix app and once a movie or TV show is playing
Tap once anywhere on the screen and Select the dialog on upper right corner
and make sure that you select English - Audio Description and tap Done.

All part of the new office 365 suite and add on's.

Skype for business is what use to be Link which is an online phone system or 
VOIP 

They are part of the same world but don't need each other to function but can 
tie in to each other

As far as I know, there is no relationship between the two, except that they're 
both from Microsoft, and they have a lot of duplicated functionality.
