RE: A Question About Blindfold Games and Ear Oppoly for iOS, Do the Bundles Include Unlimitted Play?

2020-03-29 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Bacia,

As it turns out, you are absolutely correct.

I purchased the $14.99 bundle for Ear Oppoly and all is perfect.

I also downloaded the Roulette game and it is one of the most addictive games
I've played in years. I purchased the in-app unlimited play bundle for that
game, also. Marvelous.

Hi, Richard, When I upgraded to iOS 13.4,the Radar sound still went off. I
did reboot the phone again last night and I'll try the alarm again tomorrow
morning. Could it be that my phone is too old, as I have a 7+? Anyway, thanks

I'm catching up on my mail and found this message. I experience this issue
whenever I get a new phone, or occasionally after an iOS update.
It is annoying, but usually I have to set the song again and it stays that way.
Not sure if it is related to the issue or not, but if after you update the
phone, if you then close all apps, shut the phone down, and start it up fresh,
does the issue still occur? Though the radar does get me up, I would much
rather hear my own songs verses that annoying radar.

Hang in there and be well,
Wayne

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your reply. I don't use MBraille but I spoke with my sighted son who
tweets from time to time and got enough of a Twitter overview to successfully
post my tweet to Kroger Support. I'll summarize my experience below for the
unfortunate who think as I do when trying to tweet.

My first mistake was thinking that a tweet is addressed to a particular
addressee like an email is. While this is true with Twitter direct messaging,
with Twitter in general, you are really just posting to a giant electronic
bulletin board and those that follow you are notified of your tweets for review
if desired. You can search particular folks on Twitter and when you get their
Twitter handles or user IDs which begin with the @ sign, you can tweet
something on their page for their attention. Also, my son told me that when you
execute the Compose tweet button in the bottom right corner of the Twitter home
screen, you will be placed in a text box containing the dimmed words what's
happening. If you know the Twitter handle of who you wish to tweet, you can
type it here followed by a space and the words you wish to tweet. So, in my
case, I typed @KrogerSupport followed by my message explaining the
inaccessibility issue with the Kroger app. I believe you a limited to 285
characters per tweet and I did not find that info readily available since I was
typing using the FlickType keyboard but I kept my tweet as short as possible
and ended up with 2 characters to spare.

I hope the above might help someone attempting to tweet and thanks again for
your reply.

Hi Alan,
It is rather frustrating.
I don’t think you would want to try dictating that long of a message with Siri.
Do you by chance use MBraille?
You could write your message and at the bottom write .tweet then the address to
whom you are sending it and swipe down for a hard return which will open
twitter and have your message ready to send.
MBraille has a lot of what he calls dot commands, which is the command preceded
by a period.

Subject: Help needed composing a new tweet to @KrogerSupport

Hi List,

I'll admit upfront that I don't find the native Twitter app very intuitive. I
want to compose a new tweet to @KrogerSupport to report an issue with
inaccessibility with their Kroger app. If you want to place an order for pickup
or delivery with their app, apparently, there is a blue arrow in the center of
the screen just above the bottomline menu that you must access in order to open
the screen where you can specify whether you are picking up or requesting
delivery of your order and also reserve your time if picking up. Unfortunately,
this critical button is inaccessible and simply clicks followed by the words
Action available possible text Brandon which is the name of my default Kroger
store. However, if you double tap on this button when it has focus with
Voiceover turned on, nothing happens. You must first turn off Voiceover and
miraculously touch the button in order to proceed to the next screen where
Voiceover can be turned back on and the order continued. I don't have to
emphasize how critical during these times it is for the visually impaired
community to be able to complete a grocery order.

This brings me to my question about reporting this issue to Kroger via Twitter
since getting through to them on the phone is next to impossible. I have come
up with their Twitter address which is @KrogerSupport. I simply want to launch
the Twitter app and create a new tweet where I provide the address and the
tweet text and then send it. Can someone give me the direct steps on how to do
this? Is it not possible to generate a new tweet without going through some
search routine and then selecting an address from some generated list? I'm not
replying to any existing tweet threads and simply want to create a new one with
the known recipient address. I find

2020-03-29 Thread Alan Lemly

2020-03-29 Thread Daniel MacDonald
Hello there,

When my Mac was getting fist, I bought every single game on RS Games in the iOS
app. There’s a bundle to get them all, but it doesn’t exactly work correctly.
Some games you have to buy when it’s supposed to work with the bundle. I spent
$70 before everything was done. The app is just called rs games. It is by Kid
Friendly Software, and to by the games in the app you have to be loved on to
the rs games server. Once logged on, go back to the previous screen, and
select, buy or upgrade game. All the bundles are there and just select the one
to buy them all. Then go there again, and the individual games you buy at this
point are left centre right, slot machines, and ruleset .

This is interesting.
I use Tom Enhanced, and it pronounces tornado just fine.
The Irish male Siri says Tornado like it was trying to say the first part of
the word toward.
Very odd sounding.
But, the n is definitely there.

  Hi,

I have an iPhhone 8 and my default voice is Samantha the regular not
enhanced. It says "yestertay" instead of "yesterday." This morning for kicks I
tried the Siri female voice and Susan Enhanced, and "yesterday" was still
pronounced "yestertay." So I am concluding that it doesn't matter what voice
you use, this must be some basic algorithm problem. Since it is annoying, I
just might have to give in and change the ⠏⠗⠕⠝⠥⠝⠉⠊⠠⠝⠲ Oh well!

You may also want to change the Siri Language under Siri Settings to
something other than American English. Not sure if that matters, but that was
a work around to get rid of the stupid transcriptions on voice mail.

If it still mispronounces yesterday, go to the VoiceOver Speech settings,

Add yesterday spelled correctly and in the substitution edit field, spell

I also make sure it is set to apply to all languages.

2020-03-29 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Barbara,

You ask an excellent question.

This is just a guess but I suspect that when you activate the attachment, in
order to first download it to your device, the file is being stored in a
temporary location on your local device. All things being equal, I would wager
that this area is not directly accessible via the standard user interface.

When you open the attachment, you should have an option to save it to a
specific location or in its default app location if no specific location is
offered.

I suspect that the temporary file will remain on your device until you either
delete the attachment from the email or until you delete the specific email,
itself, from your email client.

Again, this is just a guess, on my part.

A Question About Blindfold Games and Ear Oppoly for iOS, Do the Bundles Include Unlimitted Play?

2020-03-29 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

Well, last night I downloaded the RS Games client for iOS and I also
downloaded Ear Oppoly, which was developed by Kid Friendly Software, which,
as it turns out, is owned by RS Games.

For those who may not know, Ear Oppoly is a fully VoiceOver accessible
Monopoly game. I must admit that Ear Oppoly is quite addicting, to say the
least.

>From within the RS Games client, in the in-app purchase area, one can
purchase bundles of game upgrades, including Monopoly. Do these bundles
include the Kid Friendly apps such as Ear Oppoly? Or are they only referring
to the RS Games that can be played from within the client, online?

>From within Ear Oppoly, itself, you see, there are other in-app purchases
including an unlimited play package, for $14.99 which I am more than happy
to purchase so long as I am clear that doing so will not be redundant or in
anyway will conflict with the Bundle purchase offered from within RS Games
which costs $37.99.

While I am delighted that we have these games available to us, I wish that
the offerings were more clearly distinguished.

By the way, does anyone have a phone number or email address I can use to
contact the developers? I have sent an email to
supp...@kidfriendlysoftware.com, but have no idea if this is a current email
alternative.

All replies greatly appreciated.

Mark

Help needed composing a new tweet to @KrogerSupport

2020-03-29 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi List,

I'll admit upfront that I don't find the native Twitter app very intuitive.
I want to compose a new tweet to @KrogerSupport to report an issue with
inaccessibility with their Kroger app. If you want to place an order for
pickup or delivery with their app, apparently, there is a blue arrow in the
center of the screen just above the bottomline menu that you must access in
order to open the screen where you can specify whether you are picking up or
requesting delivery of your order and also reserve your time if picking up.
Unfortunately, this critical button is inaccessible and simply clicks
followed by the words Action available possible text Brandon which is the
name of my default Kroger store. However, if you double tap on this button
when it has focus with Voiceover turned on, nothing happens. You must first
turn off Voiceover and miraculously touch the button in order to proceed to
the next screen where Voiceover can be turned back on and the order
continued. I don't have to emphasize how critical during these times it is
for the visually impaired community to be able to complete a grocery order.

This brings me to my question about reporting this issue to Kroger via
Twitter since getting through to them on the phone is next to impossible. I
have come up with their Twitter address which is @KrogerSupport. I simply
want to launch the Twitter app and create a new tweet where I provide the
address and the tweet text and then send it. Can someone give me the direct
steps on how to do this? Is it not possible to generate a new tweet without
going through some search routine and then selecting an address from some
generated list? I'm not replying to any existing tweet threads and simply
want to create a new one with the known recipient address. I find this
extremely frustrating and unintuitive with the native Twitter app. I would
very much appreciate some direction. And please don't start offering other
more accessible apps like Twitterrific. I want to do this with the native
Twitter app.

I'm running iOS 13.4 on an iPhone 8 using the latest Twitter app and thanks
in advance for any help you can provide. Mark Taylor, I know you have posted
frequently about using Twitter to contact company support so I'm hoping
you'll have some words of wisdom.

It sounds like you both need to report this behavior to Apple maybe both

I am not on my phone a ton, so maybe that is why I have not experienced this.

I have noticed a couple of things with my iPhone XR running IOS 13.4.

Firstly, when the phone has been in use for some time when I make a call it is
some time before I hear anything my end. Sometimes the other person as

solves the issue.

I have tried resetting Network Settings but the issue persists.

The second issue is not a problem but interesting. No matter who I send an SMS

Hi Barbara,

You might check inside the File Manager once, because once you download the
file it gets stored on your phone.

Hope this helps

Using Magic Mouse with voiceover on new iPad Pro

2020-03-29 Thread 'Harry Bell' via VIPhone
Using mouse with VoiceOver on the new iPad Pro is brilliant! It has a few
problems: when in a list of tweets in Twitterrific, I love the way the
voiceover can be set to follow the mouse pointer and read out the tweet under
the mouse pointer. The downside is that when I want to move the mouse pointer
to the bottom of the screen in order to access the doc, the process of moving
the pointer downwards towards the dock also takes me right back to the earlier
tweets and next time I open the app, it will open at that much earlier point.
Is there a solution?
Thanks
