RE: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I have the Bose Frames Altos, and I just got the Tempos. I also have the Trekz
Titaniums from Aftershokz.

The frames will be more stylish and give you better sound quality. They're a
good option if you already want to wear sunglasses or want something that
doesn't look like you have headphones on.

The Aftershokz will give you better battery life, although the battery life in
the Tempos is supposed to be better than that in the Altos.

For me, if I'm going to grab something around the house to listen to a book or
a podcast then I'll just grab the Aftershokz. I appreciate the better battery
life, I find them comfortable, and I won't have to worry about knocking them
into something.

If I'm going out and about then I'll grab the Tempos. I like to have the option
of listening to something without everyone knowing I have headphones on. I'll
also grab the Tempos if I want to listen to something like music or a movie
where I want better sound quality.

IMHO, they both have their strengths and weaknesses, and I think it just comes
down to how you'll be using them and which form factor you prefer.

RE: Another Bose Frames question

2021-05-30 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Yes the models released in 2020 use bose music,

The earlier alto and rondo models use bose connect.

Both models of app are very usable.
But honestly I barely use the app once I've paired the frames to my phone,
Everything I need is on the frames themselves.

If anything to me is lacking in them is
The ability to say hey siri without having to tap the frame first.

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Yes ed but note that the alto and rondo are the older style / format of the
frames,

They now have the tenor for men
Seprano for women
And the tempos for sports
And these frames are the new models released in 2020
More costly but still well worth the money.

are $49.80 a month if you choose this option.

Hi,
Do these headphones have an app for adjusting settings? If so, is it completely
accessible for VoiceOver users?

Thanks.

QVC (www.qvc.com) offers them for the sprices just quoted. However they
offer five easy pays so that you can pay smaller amounts over a 5-month
period, interest free. The price does not include shipping. The tempos,
for example, are $49.80 a month if you choose this option.

you want to look for it but it’s for the Bose frames tempo at least that’s what
I have I have to look at what it’s really called but there is an app and it’s

Re: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread CHELA Robles
Well I’m fully blind and I actually like the best frames it’s just based on
personal preference really honestly in anything in life really when it comes to
products I don’t like putting things in my ears. And I actually like the
sunglasses much better. I like the fact that they have polarized lenses
polarized lenses help my eyes since I have some issues with my eyes as well I
have had an issue with them for a year now. So these post frames are really
helping me out. I also use them for phone calls in with services like be my
eyes and Ira.

When the call comes in
You should only need to press the little button on the right arm of the frames
and it should answer the call for you.

Now, a question. When my phone rings the sound does not come through the Frames
speakers? Is this normal or is there some setting I need to make?

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Simon A Fogarty
The frames don't block your ears,

The speakers are in the arms of the glasses and sit just above the ears opening
but leaves them completely open,

And the microphone in the bose frames seemingly pretty good I use my frames for
making phone calls
All the time.

I wear tinted glasses when out and about sometimes to keep the wind and or dust
out of my eyes and being blind, I and I'm guessing others may have the same
experience where you get tired of keeping your eyes open and you're just more
comfortable sometimes with your eyes closed depending on the situation or
circumstance and don’t' want to be bothered with questions on whether you're
awake or if something's wrong etc.
While I'm mildly intrigued with these Bose frames, I too prefer the Aftershokz
concept and keeping my ears open and unobstructed. That and I've got a big
noggin. So the frames would probably be a tight fit for me anyway.

They are sunglasses which have speakers and microphones built into the arms or
whatever you call these things which go from the frame around the lenses to
your ear.
Personally I wouldn't be interested simply because I am completely blind and I
don't see the need for wearing glasses, I'd much rather use the Aftershokz if I
want audio which doesn't cover my ears.

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Yeah I have the tenors and tempos and either way they are great.

 As for being totally blind,
Yeah I am and have no issue with wearing sunglasses

And to me the after shockz don't have the same quality of sound as the frames
have,

But then bose make great sound systems.

Hi,

I have had the altos, and I bought the tempos as well. They are definitely more
pricy, but they are worth it. They have all of the microphones and
multi-directional censor. They are so awesome. I also tried someone else's
after shocks, and I hands down like my frames better. I am also a totally blind

Re: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Robert Doc Wright
that is one side I have not figured out. I believe it is possibly the
bluetooth that causes the problem. I hear the tone in the frames but
sometimes when I answer the call switches back to the phones. I have heard
others talk about the same thing happening with any of their bluethoot

Now, a question. When my phone rings the sound does not come through the
Frames speakers? Is this normal or is there some setting I need to make?

Thanks,

If you want sound quality for music or television kind of stuff then the bus
frames are better if you just want information about your surroundings in track
loud noise areas then the aftershocks are probably a good option. I don’t know
about either since I haven’t paid had them but that’s my understanding from
talking to different people.

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Cristobal Muñoz

Hi,

I have had the altos, and I bought the tempos as well. They are definitely more
pricy, but they are worth it. They have all of the microphones and
multi-directional censor. They are so awesome. I also tried someone else's
after shocks, and I hands down like my frames better. I am also a totally blind
person.

Re: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread CHELA Robles
You will definitely benefit greatly with Soundscape with the Bose frames tempo.
It’s amazing. I got lucky apparently because I had a $300 gift card and I ended
up getting them with the gift card. They come with three sets of nose pads that
are easy to install if the pair that he’s already put on doesn’t fit for you
then you can try the other two pair the ones that are already installed when
the Bose frames comes is the number two which fits most people but I ended up
taking the smaller of the other two pairs that were in a bag because that’s
what fits me. They feel like they are made of some form of silicone or
rubberized type of material. They’re easy to get on and easy to get off if you
want to experiment as well. I would caution you to put them in a special place
if you change your mind about changing your nose piece size.

The Tempo seems to be highly recommended by list members. However I
noticed that the older alto has two features not mentioned in any of the
 newer models:
 Integrated microphone
 Multi-directional motion sensor

Do the newer models have microphones for taking calls or giving commands

What is the advantage of a multidirectional motion sensor, either in

I hope someone has tried the alto and knows what this does.

RE: Sounds question

2021-05-30 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You have to put your Plantronics earpiece into pairing mode. My Voyager Edge
has a little button on the boom which when I press it can take basic voice
commands and I just say "pair" or "pairing mode', but ultimately you have to
know which model it is and you could then Google how to put your particular
model into pairing mode.

Hi,

Since the last update my swoosh sound when I send a text message is missing. I
know this happened with others, even those who don't use Voice Over. All my
other sounds are working and the sound is set to play under sounds, so is there
another way to get it back or just wait!

Thanks.

I also recommend Pil Reminder. Very good and fully accessible.

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-30 Thread Simon A Fogarty
In my book better quality sound and feel to them.

Bose are speaker / sound system builders
After shockz are a different product intirely

I have both the tenor and tempo frames and the tempos have a better battery
life than the tenors but the sound is just as good and with taps on the side of
the arm or slide your finger on the right arm you get some touch controls.

They also give you a form of surround sound which the after shockz don't give
you.
Plus the frames let you watch tv or movies as well as listen to gps directions
I use them with google maps

Without issues, they may cost more but they are well worth the price you pay.
