RE: KeePass Touch app issue

2021-07-25 Thread Alan Lemly
Robin,

The Sync button is no longer there regardless of what the Help section says. My
database is still accessed through the Files button and it is located in one of
my Dropbox folders so hopefully you can access yours that way too. If not,
hopefully you’ll get a reply to your support request.

Hi Robin,

I no longer see the sync button either on the bottomline toolbar. But I'm also
running version 1.12 of Keepass Touch so you might check the App Store for the
latest update. I'd suggest after you update that you check out the settings and
you'll hopefully be able to reconnect to your master database on Dropbox.

Hi,

Question for others using the KeePass Touch app. I’m on version 1.11.8 on and
iphone SE 2020 running latest IOS.

I sync my password vault to my laptop with DropBox. I’ve had this set up for
almost a year. I recently opened my KeePass Touch app and it showed that my
master file had not been updated on my phone since around May. I did not know
how to update it, so I deleted the file, thinking I would just have KeePass go
out to DropBox and open the file, just as I’d done in the past. Strangely, now
I cannot find how to do this to save my life. The help file says to click on
the Sync button and even says it is the second from the left, which is what I
thought I’d done in t the past , but I cannot find the Sync button. The app
screen says to tap the add button to open a file, but, when I do that, it’s
showing me iCloud and I cannot find any way to navigate to DropBox. I’m
stumped. Any one out there do this recently and know what I could be missing?

Robin

Guys,

For the last couple weeks I’ve noticed that a behavior I rely on no longer
works as expected. Historically, I used to be able to connect my paired Apple
Watch to my iPhone 7 by simply putting it on my wrist, turning it on and then
waking up my iPhone. Now, even though the Bluetooth is turned on and the phone
says the watch is connected, I have to enter my password on my watch. As far
as I know, I shouldn’t have to do that. Has something changed? I did do the
most recent software update but this was going on before that update and the
update hasn’t changed a thing. Is there a setting I have to restore in the
Watch App or somewhere else?

Thanks,
Kevin

Once copied on to either a flash drive or hard drive, you can go back to that

A simple method for Windows without using iTunes is to use OneDrive.
The app synchronizes with OneDrive in Windows 10. The photos will be

Re: Moving photos off IPhone

2021-07-25 Thread Richard Turner
Joseph,
I was not going to mention iTunes; the most clumbsy way invented.
But, Keven's method of using Windows explorer is the most efficient and
accessible way if you have more than a few photos.
Once copied on to either a flash drive or hard drive, you can go back to that
folder, and delete them off the phone.
Just don't delete the folder.

Hi.

Re: Moving photos off IPhone

Richard, I was only pointing out the most easy and accessible way. Because I
know iTunes can definitely be a problem on Windows. She doesn't use a Mac. I
felt this young lady before.

What computer system are you using?
There is a more efficient way than emailing each one; especially if there are a
lot of them.
Also, which iPhone and iOS?

Thank you very much for answering my question.

Does the app work with the Wi-Fi model? Also, can it be used with Alexa?.

Thanks again.

Lynda

PS. What is the name of the app?

Nancy, the best way to do this. Would be to email them to yourself, so that you
can save them on the computer. And then paste them to the flash drive that way.
Under each photo, there should be a share button. And then you just wanna

2021-07-25 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Not an issue for me or anything I read is an issue. Have you restarted your
phone since the update, often that will clear up little problems. I would first
make sure to close all apps, then turn the phone off and turn it back on after
20 or 30 seconds.

Hello Listers,

First, thanks again for all the help with direct touch. I may have mentioned
that I kept putting off updating to the iOS 14 platform. Today, my call to my
son kept getting dropped and my phone went back to the home screen. That has
never happened before. Is there some iOS 14 setting that will prevent this from
reoccuring? Thanks in advance.

RE: How to quiet notifications

2021-07-25 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I am surprised nobody mentioned the options you have when a notification
appears on the lock screen. If you swipe down on the notification and select
“Manage” you can select to deliver the notification quietly which means it will
still be in the notification centre, but it won’t make any sounds or appear on
the lock screen until you go back and select to show the notification
prominently.
I use this often for my Ring doorbell motion notifications when I am outside in
the carport working on a project and walking back and forth would trigger many
notifications and it’s a good way to stop notifications you otherwise want
temporarily.

Subject: Re: How to quiet notifications

You certainly can. When iOS 15 is released, I think you'll find the various
focus options to be very helpful in this regard. Until then, however, the best
way to manage notifications is to have them delivered quietly. Do this by going
into setings and into notifications. For each app, you can set how you want the
notifications to be dealt with. To have the notifications delivered quietly,
make certain that the only option selected is to have them allowed in the
notification centre. Deselect banners, sounds and badges. This way, they'll
arrive silently and won't interrupt you. For more time critical stuff, use the
sounds, banners and badges as seems best to you. It's a somewhat tedious
approach but you only have to set things up once and then change as your
circumstances do.
Again, when iOS 15 is released, there'll be far more control as well as
notification summaries which will help tremendously. I currently have the
majority of my apps deliver notifications quietly so I can go into the
notifications centre on my own time and look through them. That means that I
don't always find out about news stories or tweets right away. However, for
things like messages, phone calls, etc, I have those sorts of things using
banners and sounds. I don't make much use of the badges.

Hello Listers,

First, thanks again for all the help with direct touch. I may have mentioned
that I kept putting off updating to the iOS 14 platform. Today, my call to my
son kept getting dropped and my phone went back to the home screen. That has
never happened before. Is there some iOS 14 setting that will prevent this from
reoccuring? Thanks in advance.

RE: Google Maps - Turn Off Extra Speech While Driving

2021-07-25 Thread Richard Turner
My guess is, that you have left the VoiceOver focus on the spot where it shows
your next turn, which constantly updates with distance, etc.
Flick right once, to the search along route button, or pretty much anywhere
else on the screen and only go back to that spot if you want the updated
distance to your next turn.

VoiceOver stays silent in Google Maps if you are not focused on that upper left
spot.

I mostly use Google Maps to get directions for sighted drivers. I get the
normal navigation directions from the female voice that Google Maps uses. But
I also get much too frequent additional guidance for the next turn from my
VoiceOver / Siri male voice. I have checked, and the setting in Google Maps
for detailed navigation directions while walking is turned off.

I think I remember turning something on some time ago, but i can't remember
what is was. And I can't find any other setting to turn off.

I appreciate any thoughts what I can turn off to stop the extra speech from the
VoiceOver / Siri voice.
