2022-12-06 Thread Fazil M.
Should I expect batteries in the box or I have to supply it on my own?

Thanks!

Thank you very much, Chris, for such a detailed reply and I extremely
appreciate for that.

You might have already answer this question and I must have missed your answer
due to my limited and insufficient English.

If so, I am very sorry for that.

Please let me repeat my question;

Is the rectangular unit supposed to remain attached to the wrap permanently or
is it detachable?

Am I supposed to wrap the cuff around my arm with the unit attached to it or
witout the unit?

Thanks again for your reply covering all aspects of the process.

To open the box, just pull tab out and then the lid of the box lifts up.

You will find the unit wrapped in the cup in the box. I personally keep mine
in the box when not used to help protect it.

Now the unit will automatically turn on and off by itself, so there is no power
button.

When you unwrap the unit, it automatically turns on, and when you wrap it up,
it automatically turns off.

Battery compartment.

If you unwrap the unit by rolling it toward you, so when you are done, the unit
is close to you, and the cup wrap is away from you. Then the battery
compartment is on the right side at the end. You will find an indented button
on the underside of that end. Just press that indented button, and the end
will pop off so you can put in the batteries.

Paring it to your phone.

I actually do not remember the steps, but you first have to install the app and
create an account.

Try unwrapping it with the app open and you might get a pop up that it has been
detected. I do know that paring it is easy.

Taking Blood Pressure.

First, start the app, double tap the menu button at the top, then swipe and
choose Qardio Arm.

Now, to put it on.

Note, if you unwrap it by rolling it toward you, a little down from the top of
the cup on the right side, you will find a hard like plastic thing embedded in
the fabric. Just make sure that this plastic thing faces away from you when
putting it on. Qardio Arm put that there specifically to help us know which
way to put it on.

Now after unrolling it, with the unit close to you, and the wrap away from you,
push the metal bar away from you while pulling the wrap toward you. This will
make a arm cup on the underneath. Once you have it to the size for your arm,
just slide it on and fold the remaining over the bar and fasten with the velcro.

According to Qardio.

Your arm should be at or above heart level, and you should sit for about 10
minutes prior to taking it. This will give you the best and most accurate
results.

When your ready, just double tap the take measurement button in the app and it
will start.

Once done, your Blood Pressure and pulse will be displayed on the screen.
Swipe down to the bottom of the screen and you will find a button. Double tap
it to finish it and save it to your history. Note, in an update of the app,
the button was mislabeled. It says cancel, but as long as it is at the bottom
of the screen then that is the right one.

Hope this helps.

Chris

RE: How to make notifications more informative on iPhone 14?

2022-12-06 Thread Katrina Anderson
Following is a copy of instructions for activating Siri to announce
notifications.

Open the settings app & swipe down to Accessibility & tap. Swipe down to Siri &
tap. Swipe down to Announce Notifications on Speaker & tap to toggle this on.
Just below this setting is Announce Notifications, swipe to & tap on this. Go
through your list of apps & make sure that notifications are toggled on for the
apps in which you want to receive notifications. Also, some apps can be set to
only notify you for Time Sensitive and Direct Messages or for All notifications
from the app, tap to choose the notification that best fits your needs.
Warning: Siri speaks the notifications slowly & there doesn't appear to be a
way to increase Siri's speech

This can be done by activating siri to announce
notifications, but I no longer have the
instructions. They were posted on this list, so
someone will be able to give you the steps.

Can't help you do this but at least you know it can be done.

Thanks!

You should be able to install the app before you get your device. You will also
have to set up an account and you will have to do all this before. You can
activate your blood pressure monitor.

Yup, me again, with what I’m sure is another question that was answered when
modern phones came out. What tricks are people using for successfully and
consistently getting Face ID to succeed? It seems to enjoy failing on me on a
regular basis and I end up resorting to the passcode. Which, I mean, I don’t

The same way, hold it in front of your face about 12 inches away. If that isn’t

I was having horrible success with face ID until I started holding the phone a
bit further from my face. I’m guessing it’s a good 12 inches away now or maybe
a bit more. I’d suggest practicing and changing things up a bit until you start
having more success.

Hi, the trick I doing is that: I put the screen on my nose, and far away from
my face.
You need to get practis on that, but it worth this.

RE: apple tv question

2022-12-06 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Jed,

I was just wondering what your solution was to your dilemma. Are you able to
access the Apple TV app on your new Smart TV? Or are you continuing to use your
physical Apple TV? If you are using the Apple TV app on your Smart TV, which
model television are you using?

Just curious.

I hope you are well and are enjoying your new television.

Now, I ahve a new smart tv. Do I need a physical apple tv any more, or is

I'm so far out of the loop when it comes to apple tv. 1 of the things I have

access it all through the apple tv app? If someone can help, that would be
awesome.

Re: NFL audio

2022-12-06 Thread Andy Baracco
I start by tapping on the scores tab. i find the game I am interested in, and
tap on it. if I want to change the feed I then tap on the watch tab, and the
various feeds are displayed. I then tap on the one i want. This method works
reliably and I can listen to the game and feed that i desire.
I believe that the procedure for playing games that have already ended is the
same.

Being that I don't care anything about the archived or condensed games, I
have the $5 a month version. I can not speak to the accessibility of the
features I don't use. After the posting of the excellent directions to this
list earlier in the season, I have been able to get it to play the games I am
interested in, most of the time with the radio broadcast I want. It is almost a
case of figuring it out again every time, it is getting better, though. I would
have subscribed to xm, but I don't care enough about the other things on xm to
want to pay $11 a month for it, so I wanted to see if I could make this $5 a
month nfl service work. I wouldn't want to pay any more a month for it.

Do you keep the "require attention" setting disabled, or did you end up
enabling that? At the moment, I seem to be having more success with that
setting disabled.

Using face ID is something that will take some practice. I have the phone kind
of on my left leg, and kind of turn my head towards the phone and it usually
works. However, I use my Hable bluetooth keyboard most of the time to unlock
my phone with my passcode. I use my face ID for my crecdit card and paypal
apps.

Re: NFL audio

2022-12-06 Thread James English
Hello,

The situation in the UK with nfl audio remains extremely hit and miss.
Some teams (the Vikings, bucs and ravens for example) stream their
games, but getting the Giants audio remains very unreliable. Oddly
there's a radio station over here that does every Jets game for some
reason.
If anyone has any experience with nfl plus outside of the US (with a
vpn or without) I'd love to hear about it.

RE: NFL audio

2022-12-06 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I assume they're talking about the directions I posted during the preseason
after you asked me to sign up for the trial and post my results.

OK, I signed up for the NFL Plus free trial, and things worked pretty much as
they did the season before last season. Here's what I did:

  1. I brought up the NFL app.
  2. I had to go into the Scores tab to get a game started. I couldn't figure
out how to do this from the NFL Plus tab.
  3. In the Scores tab, I double tapped on the game I was interested in. In
this case, it was the Giants at Patriots.
  4. I then had to double tap on the Watch tab.
  5. Here I could double tap on the home broadcast, which was the Patriots, or
I could double tap on the listen live options, where I could double tap on the
away feed.
  6. At this point the broadcast comes up, but you won't hear anything because
the audio volume is set to 0. I unmuted the audio by hitting the volume up
button.
  7. Now you can listen to the game but the player is totally inaccessible, so
there's no way to play/pause or fast forward/rewind.

Like I said, this was pretty much how things worked the season before last.
Last season, the problem was that the volume buttons wouldn't unmute the audio,
so there was no way for me to listen to the game unless I had a sighted person
around who could tap on the unmute button in the inaccessible player.

SiriusXM is a much more enjoyable way to listen to a game, but it is $12
instead of $5 a month.

Being that I don't care anything about the archived or condensed games, I have
the $5 a month version. I can not speak to the accessibility of the features I
don't use. After the posting of the excellent directions to this list earlier
in the season, I have been able to get it to play the games I am interested in,
most of the time with the radio broadcast I want. It is almost a case of
figuring it out again every time, it is getting better, though. I would have
subscribed to xm, but I don't care enough about the other things on xm to want
to pay $11 a month for it, so I wanted to see if I could make this $5 a month
nfl service work. I wouldn't want to pay any more a month for it.

2022-12-06 Thread kriegler01
Hi Dennis,

This doesn’t always work, but when it does, I hold the phone parallel to my
body and I keep it low. I don’t hold it way up in the air. I also don’t hold it
far away from me either, which is what I used to do, and that never worked.

Best,

This looks like a bug.
I have the same problem.
I can't swipe left/right through the options/apps etc on the share sheet.
Exploring the screen seems to reveal more options.

consistently getting Face ID to succeed? It seems to enjoy failing on me on a
regular basis and I end up resorting to the passcode. Which, I mean, I don’t
mind… but after using Touch ID for years I’ve gotten lazy. What am I not doing
correctly?

Do you keep the "require attention" setting disabled, or did you end up
enabling that? At the moment, I seem to be having more success with that
setting disabled.

Using face ID is something that will take some practice. I have the phone kind
of on my left leg, and kind of turn my head towards the phone and it usually
works. However, I use my Hable bluetooth keyboard most of the time to unlock
my phone with my passcode. I use my face ID for my crecdit card and paypal
apps.

my face.

You need to get practis on that, but it worth this.

Re: How to make notifications more informative on iPhone 14?

2022-12-06 Thread dudleym via VIPhone
This can be done by activating siri to announce
notifications, but I no longer have the
instructions. They were posted on this list, so
someone will be able to give you the steps.

Can't help you do this but at least you know it can be done.

notifications on me. Before, I used to be able
to read my text messages from the lock screen
without unlocking the phone. Now, it just says
“text message”. It’s probably a setting I read
about and forgot since it didn’t apply to me,
but… How do I get the previous behavior back?

RE: Best practices for Face ID as a blind fool?

2022-12-06 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I was having horrible success with face ID until I started holding the phone a
bit further from my face. I’m guessing it’s a good 12 inches away now or maybe
a bit more. I’d suggest practicing and changing things up a bit until you start
having more success.
