I agree that would be ideal, but since VO depends on touch gestures, which do
not work when fingers or watch is wet, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
But a good request to submit to Apple.

If you have no vision you can set screen
A sighted person can still see some information when the watch is in waterlock
and I would expect that even with waterlock is turned on Voiceover would still
read whatever a sighted person sees on the screen, specifically basic
information about your workout.

I understood that the idea is you cannot use the watch while wet, which is why
you have to use the water lock plus it prevents damage to watch. Drying it off
before turning off water lock is important. I'll be surprised if that is any
different in the 9. No one knows what the redesign for the x
"the screen acting up a bit" is an understatement.
I find the watch is quite useless when water lock is turned on, I also have a
fifth generation Apple Watch and I wear it when doing pool swims which is good,
but if I loose track of my number of laps and I want to check I so far have not

You should turn off background app refresh.
Open settings, general, and tap on background app refresh.

I'll add that, to my surprise, locking the screen makes a huge difference. I
had to replace my 12 mini's battery and, since then, I've forced myself to lock
the screen, although it is a hassle, sometimes, to convince face ID to open it
and I often have to enter my code manually, but it has
Some ideas may be any of the following:
* GPS location
* Camera
* Apps which use a lot of resources, like Facebook
* This may be a good time to go through your Settings, specifically
Privacy and Location Services and turn off or set to "while using" any
apps where you don't want your location
I saw a thread on this on a friends Facebook page. Several people reported
having the same issue from a very recent update to Kindle. One low vision
person said it seemed to be merging the word at the end of one line with the
word at the beginning of the next, even though everything looked
If you have no vision you can set screen brightness at 0.
If you do not use any bluetooth devices, you can turn bluetooth off in settings.

Yes I believe ultra has the capability to be worn while diving, just not
sure about the depth that it can handle.

Swimming with it is not an issue ,
Good to know. I’m due to go back for PT in the pool soon, and it would be nice
to track my progress.

Swimming with it is not an issue , these watches are designed to withstand
water pressure for recreational swimming, just do not dive with it..

Thanks for responding. Upon further reflection, I thought that was what the issue might be. Do you think I can get these recordings off my phone somehow? Thanks,AriOn Aug 23, 2023, at 9:47 AM, ivan harold wrote:The error is due to the app being outdated, which is why it is having a problem
As long a you put Water Lock on you should have no problem. I think Water Lock
goes on automatically when you select Swimming as your workout, or you can do
it in the Control Center on the watch.

Hi Juan,
As someone already said, this is an issue. It is happening for me too. Reading
in Braille is quite interesting. It is a little easier than reading with speech
at this point, but it is definitely an issue.

Apparently you’re not the only one. I realise this is no help but someone on a
list reported it to Amazon as it started after an update, so if you can find
where to report it, it might be a worthwhile thing to do.
All the best
