In trying to mess around with other voices, I also stopped and restarted
VoiceOver, which definitely seemed to help with the sluggishness. Try this
before doing anything more drastic.

Turns out I was using Samantha after all. I improved the sluggishness by doing
a power off and restarting. I hope that helps others.

I now see that I can choose from all of the same voices I have on my phone. I
don’t recall seeing this before. I’m now experimenting with the same voices I
like on my phone.

Thanks,

That helps. IN that exact situation, the two finger double tap does indeed say
live audio on or off… however, I’m getting nothing from the ECG app no matter
how long I hold my finger on the crown.

No big deal, but I may call Apple to see if something is wrong with my Series 6.

It is good to know though, that Magic Tap, truly means, Magic Tap on all
devices.

After starting the ECG app, touch near the bottom of the screen.

It will first say, hold your finger on the crown, pause for a second, then say,
magic tap for live audio.

On that screen, if you do the magic tap, it will either say live audio on, or
live audio off. The magic tap is a toggle.

When the happens to me, I usually hit the home key twice and close all of the

This can be changed in Settings. You can get to it in the Watch app on your
phone, or through Settings on your watch.

Just go to Accessibility / Voiceover / Speak Seconds, and you can choose either
Always or Never speak the seconds when displayed.

Hope this helps.

Series 7 watch and InfoGraph complication

2022-10-22 Thread rick.alfaro
I’ve been using the InfoGraph complication lately and can’t figure out how to
change the time display format. It insists on showing hour:minutes:seconds
where I would prefer to just show hours and minutes without the seconds and
haven’t found a way to change this. Is there a way or is this not possible?
Thanks.

RE: And So It Begins: Does Anyone Know How to Buy iPhone 14Pro Max with a Physical SIM Tray from within the United States?

2022-10-21 Thread rick.alfaro
This is exactly what I was thinking. Although I am a fan of switching sim cards
to play with other phones, I do imagine that someone will come up with a way of
easily transferring an ESim from one phone to another. Question is would this
be a user accessible possibility? I have no idea but I imagine some resourceful
hacker type person will come up with a way.

And if all you have to do is transfer your e-SIM from your old iPhone to your
new one during the setup process of your new phone it would be just as easy
peasy.
I understand why people who make a living reviewing products have multiple
phones and want to transfer a SIM from one device to another a lot, but I never
understood why somebody would want to spend all that money to buy 2 or 3
high-end phones and use one this day or this week and another the next. I would
venture a guess and say that this is a pretty small minority among phone owners.
I haven't really read up on this, but I understand that transferring an e-SIM
from an old phone to a new one is a pretty easy and straight forward thing. I
actually switched to an e-SIM on my iPhone 11 because I wanted the physical SIM
tray to be available for when I travel to the Philippines with my wife. I
haven't bought a new phone since then so I didn't have to transfer said e-SIM.
Anyways, if there is an easy way to transfer an e-SIM between 2 or 3 devices
whenever one wants to do so then the argument about the physical SIM becomes a
mute point. From the little I did read all it may take is a QR code from your
carrier and then to scan said QR code to transfer the e-SIM and before I would
moon over the lack of a physical SIM I would certainly want to inform myself as
to how easy or not it is to switch e-SIMs between the devices I have.

I have had the same sim card now since my iPhone 5S. Each time I get a new one
I just pop the card out and put it in the new one. Easy peasy.

The sad reality is, every time Apple shows "courage " look out, it means that
somethings about to get taken away. Just like every time something is done in
the name of "safety" it usually means some right or liberty is about to get
taken away, that's as far as I'll go into that on this list though. Good luck
in being able to get the phone that you want with a Sim tray. For my part, I'm
going to hold onto my SE3 which is working quite nicely and suiting my needs.

2022-10-19 Thread rick.alfaro
I also would be annoyed by not being able to use a sim tray. What if you have
another phone that you want to switch to like possibly an Android model? This
used to be easy because all you have to do is simply switch the sim card from
one phone to the other. Now, as far as I know, you can't do that any longer
without jumping through a bunch of hoops. Hopefully, there will be a way of
achieving the same result easily.

Subject: And So It Begins: Does Anyone Know How to Buy iPhone 14Pro Max with a
Physical SIM Tray from within the United States?

Hello Everyone,

And so it begins.

I was in one of my local Apple stores, yesterday taking a look at iPhone 14 Pro
Max.

It is my hope to purchase an iPhone 14 model with a physical SIM tray.

While discussing this with a store manager, I was somewhat surprised to learn
that, according to him, the store has been inundated by customers who only
want to buy iPhone 14 with a physical SIM tray. He told me that they are
working on crafting an in-store response to the enquiries designed to
discouraged customers from seeking a physical SIM tray. He followed that up by
saying, "I know you, Mark, and no response is going to keep you from getting
that SIM tray model, if that is what you want." (smile) He is a very smart
man (smile).

So, the search begins.

Does anyone know away to purchase an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a physical SIM
tray, from within the United States?

Some people are saying that if you buy a model from the Apple online store,
without designating a wireless provider, that Apple will ship you a model with
a physical SIM tray. However, I cannot locate anyone to confirm this.

Make no mistake, I'm not above taking a short trek up to Canada to pick up a
model but if I can avoid it, I would prefer to do so.

I have a friend who is heading to Japan in a couple of weeks and, of course, I
could have the friend pick up a model, in Japan, but that makes me somewhat
uncomfortable; I don't know why. I think I'd rather go to Canada, in person,
to grab a model.

All replies greatly appreciated.

Mark

IOS16 and delayed siri responses

2022-10-17 Thread rick.alfaro
I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed this with IOS16. Siri responses are
more delayed for some reason whenever I press and hold the power button to
invoke Siri. In the past, the alert tone was heard almost immediately where
now, there is quite a delay after the tone. I know the tone is different which
I really don’t care for but the delay is quite annoying. Anyone else seeing
this?

Yes, I am seeing this as well. My workaround until this gest fixed is to do a 4

First of all I don't think there is any need to label your message as off topic
if you are asking about an accessible device.

I am just amazed that such icemakers have settings which require controls
whether digital or analogue, what sort of stuff can you adjust?

. We have an icemaker in our fridge and as far as I know you can't set anything
except turn it on or off, when it's on it makes ice cubes and when it's off it
doesn't.

Terrific app Chris. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. So much nicer than
the SirusXM app.

A couple of tips about the StarPlayrX app.

* After selecting a channel, on the channel screen, you will see a preset
toggle button. This is the favorites button, so just double tap on it to turn
it on and add it to your favorites.

* Now to find your favorites, just double tap on the All Stars choice on the
main screen. You will have 3 or 4 default stations that the app puts there,
but after that will be listed your favorites.

So once you find the stations you want, add them to your favorites, and then
there is no more searching.

For 99¢, it seems to be more intuitive than the SiriusXM app in many ways. I
easily found the channel for Seattle Mariners and any other baseball team you

It is far less cluttered than the SiriusXM app.

Yes, I've also experienced what you describe with some apps. Not sure if it's
due to funky focus issues or what but when they do work and stick properly,
they're a big help.

Thanks, I did get it to work, well, somewhat. I'm wondering if these screens
are generated dynamicly or something because for some of the buttons, after
closing and reopening the app, the labels aren't sticking, so it's possible the
controls may change slightly each time, but I did get some of them to work.

The newer remote is much easier to use because it has directional buttons you

Hi. I’ve seen a few folks state that they find the back tap to be unreliable.
That just hasn’t been me experience so I can’t help but wonder where folks are
performing the back tap? I always do it on the back camera and it works for me
%99 of the time. I use this spot because there never is any kind of case to get

Like Chris, I have the backtap twice set to home and the backtap three times
set to app switcher. I also seldom use them because they are not as reliable or
as quick as other screen gestures.

Instead, I have customized my gestures so a four finger tap goes to the app
switcher and a four finger double tap goes home. I find these much easier to
use than the backtap or the new slide from the bottom gesture used by phones
without a home button.

I encourage everyone to go to Settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver, Commands, All
commands and get familiar with how extensively these can be customized. You can
pretty much set up your phone to work in the way that best suits you.

Subject: Back tap on new iPhone

Hi everyone,

TGIF!!!

I just traded in my iPhone XR for an iPhone 13 Pro, and I am debating what to
commands to use for the back tap. I am inquiring to what others have enabled
and why. I love the idea to have expanded gestures and just can’t decide which
ones to choose.

All feedback is welcome.

Thanks,

Joe

Personally, I like assigning the triple back tap to start and stop VoiceOver.
Even though it can be done with a “Siri command, there are times I’d rather do
it without having to speak anything.

Hi Amy, I have to WayLink you are referring to and find I don’t use it very
often at all as simply scanning the tag via NFC on my iPhone is just as quick

It would have been great as a standalone device if it could speak the contents

Hello,

For those of you who use this, does the machine sold for $99 allow someone to

then I don’t see the use for it.

Thanks.

So does your lg tv have a screen reader built in to let you know where you are
on the menus etc?

Or you just let the wife drive those things?

And yeah the sonos app advises you to turn off the tv audio and set it as the
sonos audio only.

As I just posted, we bought an LG TV pretty much exactly a year ago and have no
issues with the TV and the Arc, but my wife did have to go into the TV settings
because by default after we hooked up the soundbar it was set for audio to come
from the external connection (the soundbar) and the internal TV speakers, but
once that was done all has been good. I spend quite a bit of time reading about
the slightly higher-end OLED TV's last year and more less had narrowed it down
to this LG and a Sony model, but the LG I felt had slightly better specs and
reviews and we have been very happy with it although I guess I should say my
wife has because I just benefit from the audio and it comes from the Arc. I
only briefly played around with the screenreader which is part of the LG Web OS
platform and I didn't really learn how to use it, but it seemed OK. One thing
the sales person at our local electronics store said was that he felt LG's Web
OS platform was more user friendly than some of the Android ones and this TV
has pretty much everything from Netflix, Disney and Amazon Prime to Apple TV
built in and we haven't used our Apple TV since we had the TV. But as I
mentioned, I only watch TV with my wife so she always does the driving so to
speak and all I find useful is to know how to do Play/Pause and turn the volume
up and down which on the LG remote are nicely shaped buttons in the shape of a
Plus and Minus symbol, but of course when I sit on our couch I just have to
reach out with my right arm to where the Sonos SL is mounted on the wall and I
can use it to turn the volume up or down as well.

The Sonos app is completely accessible.

If you can afford the roughly $650 for the Arc, (and have room for it) give it
a try. It has Alexa or Google Assistant if one wants it, and it sounds amazing.

IN fact, I would call Sonos and talk with them about issues that may be present
with LG and see if they have a solution.

Soundbars range in price from the cheapest in quality and sound at about $99 to
the best in quality and sound upwards of hundreds of dollars to a thousand or
more. The Sonus ARC is quite pricey but most likely worth the cost if you
choose to pay that amount. I've not heard the Sonus Beam but people claim it's
quite good as well at a price tag of about $400. I'm looking at various models
of soundbars comparing various features ... but I'm very interested in how the
apps are accessible. I've got a LG TV and I find the LG apps less than
accessible. And, although I'd prefer the Sonus product ... I've read where the
Beam tends to have issues working properly with the LG OLED TV sound output.
Therefore, I'm also looking at Bose and Samsung soundbars but avoiding LG due
to their app issues. As a side note ... most lower quality soundbars or cheap
ones don't often work with Alexa. Working together with Alexa is a must for me.
I'm all about making my home smarter.

I discovered, and have confirmed with Good Maps, that if you open the POI

They may have maxed out the allowed number of POI’s.

Hi.

I’m trying to get Voice Clock to work with no stop time. What I mean is I have
it start at midnight, and it stops at 11:59 p.m., essentially going 24 hours a
day. When it’s working, it works great. Problem is it stops at the indicated
time, but it doesn’t start back up. The only way I can get it working is to
open the app, and it works again until the next night.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

List Recorder, from I think Sixth Sense software, or something like that, died
when Apple made the change to 64 bit architecture. The developer's husband was
severly ill and she just did not have the band-wid to do the work.

She offered the source code to anyone who would pick up the project, but there
were no takers.

It was a brilliant app!

Nothing yet has matched its features with the ease of use.

Richard, I couldn’t find a way either. It looks like the last update was 6

Rick,

I couldn’t find a way to write the Chime developer.

If you can, let us know.

That was probably the best for doing what you want and I know others who will
be very sad when they update and find it no longer works.

Hi.

I read in another message that someone no longer got the time automatically
spoken with a talking clock in iOS 15. I’m also having this happen with
Speaking Clock. Not sure what’s up.

Just letting people know.

I can’t speak to Roku and it’s absolute latest incarnation, but what I do know
about it for my experience is that the voice they use is hideous. I had a Roku
stick, and it was sluggish. And although I have been using synthetic speech
since the DOS days, I found their speech is hard to understand is anything I’ve
ever heard in the synthetic speech world. In other words, avoid it like the
plague.

RE: Bose frames

2021-06-02 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi. The Frames Tempo doe not have the directional features of the earlier
models. Not sure why Bose decided to abandon that idea. The Frames do have very
good microphones and work re4ally well for making and receiving phone calls. I
wear my Tempos literally all day.

Subject: RE: Bose frames

I am a month behind in reading mail from this list. Hope you will forgive me
for asking questions on Bose Frames.
I didn't know about them and am absolutely fascinated by the idea! I want
headphones I can wear while walking outside that would allow me to listen to
GPS directions from my phone as well as sounds in the environment. The open
ear technology sounds like it will do that.

Since I have no vision, not even light perception, the lenses are not important
except that polarized do seem to be better than non-polarized.
The Tempo seems to be highly recommended by list members. However I noticed
that the older alto has two features not mentioned in any of the newer models:
Integrated microphone
Multi-directional motion sensor

Do the newer models have microphones for taking calls or giving commands to the
phone?
What is the advantage of a multidirectional motion sensor, either in general or
for me as a blind user?
I hope someone has tried the alto and knows what this does.

Thank you in advance for your help, as well as for bearing with me on this
subject.

I believe he was referring to head tracking which the Tempo doesn't support
currently. Other than the head tracking, the Tempos work great with SoundScape.

2021-05-04 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi. If you are referring to what they call head tracking, sadly no, the Frames
tempo are not supported. I'd love to see this added if possible in a future
firmware update but not sure if the Tempo has the necessary AR sensors. The
models that are supported are the Alto and Rondo which are older models.

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-03 Thread rick.alfaro
I would imagine that if you have to volume all the way up it would be possible
for others to hear your conversation. Kept at a reasonable volume, there could
be some chance of others hearing but not much. They are open speakers so I
think it's to be expected.

Hi about these frames.
What I would like to know is if you are on A call and using them.
Can others hear your conversation as well or just you?

Hi. Afte4r trying a few different Bluetooth glasses and open ear type headsets
I finally decided on the Bose Frames Tempo. They are a wrap around style set of
sun glasses with awesome battery life compared to some of the others and the
sound is decent given the size of its speakers. I wear them every day and use
them for listening to podcasts or audio books and they also work great for
making and answering phone calls. They are expensive but work the best for me.

My next favorite are the AfterShokz AeroPex but don't care for the way that
AfterShokz headphones work with Siri because you have say "hey Siri" when
issuing a Siri command via its multifunction button which is totally
unnecessary with other brands.

RE: Bose frames

2021-05-03 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi. In my case they are sun glasses with tiny bluetooth speakers inbeded into
the stems of the glasses and pointed toward your ears. The speakers are
actually pointed towards your ears and not on them or in them so you can hear
all of your surroundings.

RE: A review of the soon to ship Sonos Roam portable smart speaker

2021-04-14 Thread rick.alfaro
I’ve been watching reviews on YouTube on this speaker. Man, it almost sounds
like the perfect portable speaker. Definitely ordering one.

My wife thinks it would make a great birthday present and I agree! (lol)

Subject: A review of the soon to ship Sonos Roam portable smart speaker

Sonos announced this new addition to their speaker line-up back in March, here
a good review of what promises to be a popular product. For once Sonos ha s
also gone away from their ultra clean design and have incorporated tactile
markings for the volume and play/pause buttons, a welcome feature for us blind
users. I have reordered my Roam more or less right away after it was announced
so hopefully it will ship next week and I get to try it for myself. Here now
the initial impression of the reviewer followed by the link to the full review:

If I could sum up the Sonos Roam in a
single sentence it would be: Well worth the wait. I’ve been trying the $169
smart speaker, which is available for pre-order right now and will be released
on April 20 for a couple of weeks. After putting the Sonos Roam through its
paces I wish all portable speakers worked this well, and sounded this good.

Well, bummer. I guess that means they’ve discarded it and we won’t see more
updates. How annoying! Now I wish I had made a back up using a computer before
I put the beta profile on my device. But I actually don’t know how to do that
on windows, so I didn’t bother. Oh well.

Hey Jenny,

If you have an echo or dot and you have it connected to the air fryer, you can
tell it to resume the air fryer after you have the recipe programmed in and
even though you haven't started it yet, it will start the fryer. We have
Highmarks just below all of the buttons, but we rarely use them. I love that
air fryer.

Hi Richard,

Wow, I actually have one of these air fryers myself, having just purchased it
within the past couple of weeks, and I still loved your review. LOL I’ll just
say that my family and I use ours pretty much every day. We have cooked a wide
variety of things in it so far, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, pork chops, chicken
tenders and nuggets, several types of fish, pizza rolls, etc. We have also
reheated several things such as leftover pizza and even shepherds pie. I did
put a tactile dot on the start/stop button, because apparently even if you try
to start cooking through the app, which is pretty well accessible by the way,
it still requires a press of the Start button on the touch screen. But for the
most part, I use Alexa for most functions. I loved your whole chicken recipe
though, and am tempted to try it myself. LOL I am also curious about how steak
would turn out, but I digress. :-)

It is $107.99 at amazon.

The user guide is a fully accessible pdf that you can download from the Cosori
web site.

The setup could probably be done with the app without sighted assistance
because if you have the app open when you first plug it in, you can select add
a device, pick your model from the list and it walks you through connecting it
to your Wi-Fi network.

It even noticed we have an eligible Alexa device and connected it.

Before your first use, you remove all tags, remove the basket, wash the basket
and the pan that the basket sits in, wipe off the surfaces of the air fryer
inside and out. After drying the washed basket, insert it again into the air
fryer.

I told Alexa, to preheat the Cosori at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. It did.

The air fryer is not any noisier than our microwave oven.

After 5 minutes, it beeped.

You pull out the basket and set it on a heat resistant surface and let cool for
at least 5 minutes.

Then, you put it back in and tell Alexa you want to cook a steak for 5 minutes
at 400 degrees. (leave the basket empty, this is just a test.)

When it is done, remove the basket and again set it on a heat resistant surface
and let it cool for 10 to 30 minutes.

It did not take 10 minutes to cool.

You are then ready to cook your first dish. we decided to cook bacon.

Note, I let my wife put the bacon in the hot pan as I haven't gotten my
silicone gloves yet.

We use thick sliced apple wood smoked Hempler bacon.

You preheat it to 320 degrees for five minutes.

Remove the basket and place the bacon in the basket with at least 1/4 inch of
space between the pieces. 6 slices fit with 5 left-to-right and one vertical.

There is a bacon preset that cooks for 6 minutes at 320 degrees, we ended up
doing 8 minutes which had it done, but not burnt, and there was very little
grease.

(interesting factoid: bacon fat’s smoking temperature is 374 degrees. So
keeping it at a lower temperature reduces the smoke.)

We are hooked. Tonight, we did a whole roasted chicken.

It does not have a rotisserie attachment, so you cook it in the basket and flip
it half way through.

It says a 5 to 6 pound chicken will take one hour at 320 degrees.

Our chicken was a little over 5 pounds.

I used a herb and brown sugar dry-brined that is from the Once Upon A chef web

Hi Richard. We have this air fryer and love it but there is one strange quirk
that I found to be very odd when setting up a cook via the app. The app is
quite accessible but when you are done setting your options and hit “start
cooking” you are told to press start on the air fryer control panel. A real
shame as the whole process via the app is completely accessible except for the
last step.

Thankfully one can use Alexa which is great but if you want to use the app you
are out of luck unless you’ve placed a marker on the start button. Have you
run into this at all?

RE: Best app for recording a doctor visit

2021-01-17 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi Mary. If you have an Apple Watch, I would personally use Just Press Record.
Since the watch is on your wrist you don't have to worry about where you place
your iPhone as long as it's within range of your watch. JMO.

RE: Alternatives to Aftershokz bone conduction

2021-01-11 Thread rick.alfaro
I was originally very interested in the Bose Tempos but held back due to fear
that they just wouldn't last a whole day of normal every day use like making
and receiving several phone calls, occasional streaming, and frequent Siri
usage. I don't mind recharging every night but running out of battery during
the day would be a deal breaker for me. I wear sun glasses every day for
several hours a day.

What has been your experience in terms of battery life? I'd be interested in
anyone else's experience regarding the Bose Tempo Frames.

Hello,

Yes, the first sound is cut off, unfortunately, with the Aeropex, and so far as
I know, this has been the case for Aftershokz products for the past couple of
years or so.

I’m wondering if you have run into either one of these issues with the AeroPex

I’d appreciate any thoughts on this. I’ve already done things like forgetting

Same thing here with the same solution with my wife. Actually, rebooting the
watch did not remedy it. In fact, I actually went through the process of
unpairing and re-pairing my watch which didn't fix it either.

Same happened for me, I turned off Voiceover and my wife was able to tap the OK

on and this would also resolve it.

Hi all,

I had the same problem. It definitely is a bug. You should be able to flick
right to the OK button but you can't. I called Apple care and spent 2 hours on
the phone trying to figure it out and couldn't do it either. After all this, I
found it myself by trial and error.
I reported it to Apple but, if I'm the only one, it won't get fixed. I urge
everyone who has had that problem to call and report it so they can fix it.

2020-11-11 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi Chris. Basically, it's tons and tons of documentaries on just about any
subject you can think of. If you enjoy watching documentaries, you will
probably love Curiosity Stream and the price is quite reasonable. I believe I
paid $14.99 for 1 year via a coupon I found somewhere. Regular price is $19.99
I believe.

RE: Access to charging sensor while having belt clip on case?

2020-10-11 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi. I think the nub will probably interfere with the wireless charging. I would
rtry and find a belt case that doesn't require any sort of attachment. There
are a ton of them on Amazon but make sure it's either a Universal case or one
that is made for your particular phone model.

Subject: Access to charging sensor while having belt clip on case?

In preparation for getting a new iPhone and case when the new ones come out,
I'm upgrading from a 6s plus. If I go the route of finding stands or charging
pads to rest the new phone on, can this coexist with something like those
stick-on nubs that click into a belt clip? Right now, the nub I have on my case
is on the far left edge of the case at the midpoint. Would this put the phone
off-center so it wouldn't connect to the charging pad? I really find it helpful
to connect to a belT clip to free up my hands. If I would need to use another
solution, what have others done?
Thanks,
Matthew

Subject: An alternative to Audible for future purchases

sGreetings,

Since Audible has been discussed a lot lately, I wanted to mention an
alternative resource that I am seriously considering.

It is called Libro.fm.

They seem to have everything Audible has, minus the audible originals of
course, at roughly the same price; but you can pick a local bookstore to
support and they get half of the money. They have a membership that gets you
one book a month for $14.99 per month, first book free.

They are non-DRM books, so can be played on any player.

I’ve not started my membership yet because the first book I want to try is not
available yet do to the pandemic. The reader hasn’t been able to go into the
studio to record the book, Riviera Gold, by Laurie R. King. The 16th book in
the Mary Russell, Sherlock Holmes series.

Finding the search area of their web site is tricky and I have given them
feedback about the accessibility, and they always respond quickly; but getting
their web designer to make changes may take longer.

Since I have not actually started my membership, I cannot speak to how easy it
is to get the books either in their app, or as I would likely due, into Voice
Dream Reader.

I’ve pasted the info about membership below if anyone wants to take the plunge.

Creating a command on IOS 13

2020-02-19 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi Listers. I'm trying figure out the best way to create a custom command in
IOS 13. Here is what I am wanting to do and I need suggestions on the best
way to accomplish this.

I want to be able to speak a command that will trigger the following
actions.

1. Open settings
2. Open accessibility
3. Open hearing devices
4. Open Rick's hearing aids
5. Read the contents of that screen

The end result would be the announcing of my hearing aid's battery level.

What is the best way to tackle this? Using Voice Control, using shortcuts,
or using IFTTT? If anyone out there is familiar with any of these methods
and can give me a step by step, it would be terrific. Thanks.

Warmest regards

Rick Alfaro

This is an app developed a few years ago by a 15 year-old. I just received the
following from him and downloaded the app. While it doesn't do all that Voice
Dream Scanner does, it is quite impressive. Read on and act quickly on June 14,
2019.

Hey Richard,

I'm really sorry about the bad experience you had with the last version of
Voice. Four years ago, when I had released the app, I was only 15.
Unfortunately, since I was still learning programming, the app itself was still
very buggy and crashed a lot. I tried my best to give you guys the best
features for free but my programming skills were not good enough at the time.
As years went by and it was time for me to apply to colleges, I slowly stopped
being able to support Voice and it slowly stopped working. Over the last year,
I have received thousands of emails from you guys saying the app is completely
broken.

I've got huge news today. Over the past few months, Voice was completely
remade from the ground up, with the best and latest technology. The OCR quality
is spectacular, even on completely distorted, badly focused, and incorrectly
angled photos with poor lighting. There are new voice control features. You can
simply say the words "Take Picture" and Voice will take pictures for you. You
simply say "Read" and Voice will start reading it to you. Voice will give
extremely accurate field of view reports when it detects a document in front of
you. It works in over 30 major languages and gives you the most powerful OCR
reading tools right in your pocket.

I have decided to make the app free for only the next 24 hours. After that, it
will be on the app store for $4.99. I have always wanted to keep this app free
for you guys, but the problem is that maintaining the app becomes very
difficult when it is completely free. I would rather give you guys an extremely
low-cost app that is the absolute best and regularly supported, rather than a
completely free app that is mediocre and unsupported. Those of you that install
it while it is free will also get future updates for free. Let your friends
know so they can also get it while it's free!

I hope you find this application helpful. I am open to any suggestions and
feedback, feel free to be as brutal as you like. I will try to respond to your
email in less than an hour. I plan to bring even more exciting stuff in the
very near future. Thank you for your time.

Subject: Voice app for iOS announcement

Hi Richard. I already had the app installed so got the update. The OCR is truly
impressive. I wasn’t able to get the 2 voice commands to work at all however. I
did allow access to the mic when running the app. Any suggestions?

RE: Instant Pot app

2019-05-14 Thread rick.alfaro
What about other settings like time, pressure level, and other settings that
were very accessible in the BlueTooth version but not in the WiFi version of
the app? With the BT version of the app, all of these settings are accessible
via the dashboard and there is no need to use any of the hardware buttons to
setup your cook session.

I have done most of my selection using the hardware buttons on the device.
However, the cooking mode buttons are labeled in the app.
