RE: Does anyone know how to create an event on Facebook using your personal profile on IPad/IPhone??

2021-02-27 Thread 'Simon Wong' via VIPhone
Well Eleanor, I would assume it’s the same on the phone as it is on the
computer. I don't know about the app or if you would do this in safari but you
would flick to where it says events if you are logged into your account, there
should be a add event and you would just have to fill in your event info and
just choose done or next or save.

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone could help with this please. I’ve got an event coming
up and would like to create it on Facebook. I don’t have a Facebook page of any
sort, just my own personal profile. So just wondered if anyone could send me
some instructions on how to create a Facebook event using my personal profile
please?? I’d be creating it using my IPad or IPhone, not computer.

Many thanks for any help anyone can give.

Hi,

I like to attend Zoom calls from my phone quite often. I just attended one this
morning that was in webinar format where I could not unmute to ask a question
of a panel. They wanted us to use the Q feature. I can get to this area, but
my question was long and I had hoped to dictate it, but dictate won’t work
while on the call. Any work arounds you can think of this this? On the fly, I
tried to log into the call from my laptop to ask my question, but couldn’t’ get
it loaded in time. Next time, I’ll try to have a Bluetooth keyboard
available, but just curious why dictate couldn’t work and if there is anything
you’ve done in this situation.

What's meant by Recurring Appoinments? because in my exploring of FantastiCal,
I have been able to set events for every year, for instance.

Re: Mostly For Shane - Issue, privacy questions and suggestion for SuperSense

2021-01-06 Thread 'Simon Wong' via VIPhone
I find it odd that you have to provide an email address, in order to get the
service whether it be free or if you pay a subscription for it. I wanted to try
it out, but to put in my email address I’m not so sure.

I'm forwarding what I feel is one of the worst examples of customer support
I've ever experienced.
I was looking into getting some Sonos 1 speakers and an amp so we could have
music in multiple rooms. I wrote their support to ask about the frequency range
of the speakers and to check if there are different generations of the Sonos 1
speakers. Below is there utterly useless response. I'm rethinking our plans.

2020-12-30 Thread 'Simon Wong' via VIPhone
Well when you open your YouTube app, you swipe through, there’s a search button
you double tap on it you type in whatever you want to search for, like let’s
say ABBA songs, then on the bottom of your iPhone screen to the right there is
a search button you double tap on that and then you swipe through the list of
videos that there are.

when you go to check your messages, voiceover will say that there’s a message,

Re: scanning apps

2020-12-23 Thread 'Simon Wong' via VIPhone
Hi I recently got the fypido stand, however I am not quite sure of how to put
the phone on it, but thanks for the suggestion.

Simon,
if you have trouble holding the phone over a document, no app is going to give
great resullts. I do not like KNFB Reader. You may want to consider getting a
scanning stand. I love Voice Dream Scanner, but its way of letting you know if
you have text in view is a tone that plays. The louder the tone, the more text.
If you have it on auto-capture, once you are steady at the loudest tone for 2
or 3 seconds, it will take the picture.
You want to be 10 to 12 inches above a full 8.5 by 11 document to get the best
results.
Supersense, tells you in words to move farther away, or 1 inch to the left,
etc. Supersense has a free trial, and if you are convinced by it, right now it
is haf price for a lifetime subscription for $49.99. Or there are monthly or
yearly plans.
Voice Dream Scanner on the other hand, is $5.99 one time purchase.
They both have great points about them and Supersense is designed to deal with
more objects than just text.
You could also use the free Seeing AI app to scan a single page.
Good luck.

All help most appreciated!

Do I actually need to open the app first and then turn the rotor to describe
images and turn it off that way? It says turn off describe images for so I’m
assuming I have to open the app to turn it off?

If it shows up in any app, just go to the rotor and turn it off by
flicking. Once it is off, you won't have to do it again.

Just make sure you turn the rotor to characters or words, so you won't
accidently enable it again.

I have the same issue apparently. I've not used this app in a while, but if
I flick right, I just get repeated options and detailsover and over. If I
drag my finger around the screen, I get some tv info, but it's not helpful.
I thought turning on screen recognition would change the behavior, but it
didn't. I have the latest phone and operating system.

I wonder if it could be the voice you are using?

This is what seems to happen.

It is not reading the title on the screen like it is text' and this is why
I say this.

For each title, there is 2 buttons, go to details button, and view options
button.
As you swipe right down the screen, it reads the title when I land on the
next line, which is on the go to details button.
But if I swipe left up the screen, it says the title on the view options

line.

Mark,

I don't know whether the latest iTunes for Windows version will run on a
32-bit system but I'd recommend you execute your Windows 7 Start button and
type Apple Software update in the box and see what it offers you. That's how
I've gotten past iTunes versions on my Windows 7 64-bit system when I had
trouble getting them from the Microsoft Store.

Good luck.

Subject: iTunes for Windows 7, on a 32-bit PC, anyone?

Hello Everyone,

Okay, up until now, I have continued to use my old Windows 7, 32-bit Desktop
as my primary iTunes Library manager.

As a result, I have iTunes 12.6.5.x on a Windows 7 PC. As you may recall,
once upon a time, this version allowed one to access the app store.

While it continues to allow one to access the App Store, it no longer
supports device backup on anything running iOS 13 or later.

So, reluctantly, given that it would appear that Apple's decision to remove
the app store from iTunes is permanent; and given that I would, once again,
prefer to have actual iTunes backups of my devices, I have decided to
upgrade iTunes 12.6.x to the latest version of iTunes.

So, I went to apple.com/itunes and, to my surprise, there does not appear to
be a 32-bit version of iTunes 12.7 available.

Have I waited too long to update?

The only older versions of iTunes I can find on that particular site are
versions older than 12.6 and all appear to be 64-bit only.

So, I have two questions:

1.
What is the latest version of iTunes for Windows? Keep in mind that I do
not have access to the Microsoft store on a Windows 7, 32-bit PC.

2.
Does anyone know from where I may download the latest 32-bit version of
iTunes for Windows 7? Is anyone running a version of iTunes for Windows
that allows for backing up iOS / iPad OS running versions of the operating
system that are at least 13.x or higher, that was not downloaded from the
Microsoft Store?

All replies greatly appreciated.

Mark

Re: What exactly is a wigit?

2020-10-30 Thread 'Simon Wong' via VIPhone

Hi here's how someone described it to me, hope its clear.
A widget is a small icon that you place on your home page to get the
information you need that updates all the time. For instance, I have my
calendar widget and my weather widget on my home screen so I can flick to
either widget and get real time information. My weather one gives me the
current temperature as well as the high and low. My calendar gives me my
next event. If I need more detail, I can double tap on the widget and it
opens the app. Very practical for things you check quite often. Note that
not all apps yet have a widget but they will come soon. I am thinking of
putting my Parcel widget there so I can track my parcels location in real
time. The thing you have to remember is that adding widgets to your home
screen will need space so they will push the apps at the bottom of your
screen to the next page.

Hello everyone,

So what exactly is a wigit?

Also, how well do they work with Voiceover?

And what might be some benefits of using them?

I am very curious to learn more. I don't understand them. I also don't
understand as to why now my whole main screen seems covered in them.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
