Siri and text messaging

Uber Shortcut

Has anyone found a work around for the shortcut that was taken away for 
setting up an Uber ride using Sieri? I haven't found one yet, but I was 
wondering if anybody found a way around it.

I uninstalled and re installed. I also logged in. the books came back in 
the same fashion.

 

When I move down the list the heading comes up showing me the number of 
books along with the status of the list. When I move down the list that 
heading comes up again with the number of titles in the library and the 
status of the list. .

 

I can get past it for about five more titles then it pops up again. 

 

I have updated to 15.4 today with the same result. 

 

When Apple shared the screen, they said that the cursor kept jumping back 
to the top. 

 

I don’t notice it in the wish list or the collections screens. 

 

I have updated Audible at least twice in the past two weeks. 

 

I don’t have the problem in the home page. 

 

I am puzzled, and it appears that Audible is also.

Problem With Audible

I have been having a problem with accessing my library within Audible.  I 
can no longer go through the contents without the heading popping up 
telling me how many books are in the library. 

 

I have spoken with both Apple and Audible with no resolution.

 

This problem cropped up with IOS 15.3.1.

An Uber Question

Is there a way to make it easier for Uber drivers to identify you? I have 
noticed that it is getting harder to let the drivers know exacctly where I 
am. What tricks to you use to help drivers find you? Is there a way within 
the ap to signal the driver that I am blindz? 

I have had many occassions where when I called the driver, to find out 
where he or she is, they are right in front of me. 

It gets to be a real pain. I considered a id card with Uber in big block 
letters, but I might generate other headaches. 

Any ideas would help.

Weather aps and Radar

I wonder if anyone has run across a weather  AP that allows Voice Over  to 
interpret the radar  images. I have run across some aps that feature radar 
images, but I have yet to find one that is  compatible with Voice over

Question About Voices

I notice that when I download the enhanced voices, that they sample does 
not sound the same as it does when I choice it as the default voice. Sandy 
does not sound like the sample vvoice. There a a couple of others that I 
have noticed with the same issue. 

I am using a SE20/20 with 64GB. Is there a fix for this?

I had to do a total restore, then, when I did, the problem still existed. I 
went back to reset and reset all settings. then it was fixed. 
unfortunately, I had to restore all of my settings. I am still finding 
settings that I forgot about.

question about IOS 14.2

I have been having trouble with my Iphone 2020. Lately, I have had to 
re-boot it at least twice a week. It will loose settings, and not find 
things that I know should be there. 

Today, I wanted to send the audio to my Integra Receiver, which is in my 
wifi network, but it could not find it. After several attempts, I 
re-started the phone, and there  it was. 

Has anybody run into this problem? If so, What did you do to correct it.

Voice Over and the Locke screen

I have been having an annoying issue with Voice Over when it is in the 
locked screen.

 

When a notification comes up, Voice Over starts speaking the notification 
then stops to say that it is a notification. 

 

Normally it will speak the notification then tell me the number of 
notifications. It has been a problem that keeps cropping up after loading 
IOS14. The updates have had no affect. 

 

Also, I have a pronunciation problem with Radio.com. when Voice Over speaks 
notifications from the APin the locked screen it treats the COM as as 
if it has all caps. 

 

I have tried to type the correct pronounciation. Unfortunately, it reads it 
correctly in the pronunciation dictionary, but does not read it correctly 
on   the locked screen. I notice it in all voices.

Strange Restart

Recently, I had to restart my SE20. When it came up, I noticed that the 
security touch functions had been disabled. Siri was also disabled. Before 
I did the re-start, everything was OK.

 

I was able to get everything back, but I am still finding quirks that were

trouble turning Iphone SE on

I am having trouble getting my Iphone  8SE to start. I don’t know how long 
to hold the on/off button to get it to start. I am a total, and I cannot 
tell when the screen llights. Up. 

I dread having to turn it off. 

 

Also, what was the command for a reboot?

To exchange a book, you must go the web page. Then go int your account. 
Move to the link that lists all your book purchases. Move down to the one 
that you want to exchange. Move to the link that indicates why you cannot 
exchange the book. It will give you a choice of contacts. Choose the E-mail 
option and tell them which book that you want to exchange. They will 
respond to you.

Problem With Auto Lock

I am having a problem with my screen not locking when the phone is not in 
use. When I sit the phone down, it usually will lock the screen after a 
short period. I have had it set at  

 1 minute with uncertain results. 

 

It has been a problem for some time. Now it is getting worse

 

I have been reluctant to move to the SE 20/20 because the store that I 
normally would  purchase any phone from  is not available. I am considering 
ordering the phone and winging it, but I am not comfortable with that idea 
yet.

I find the updated AP easier for the removal of finished books. It took a 
couple of tries but I was able to get it. 
You might  be careful with the choices at the top of the library. It took 
me some time to get back to the recent books first. After a couple of tries

I noticed it with the default Samantha bvoice also. I changed the spelling 
in pronounciation  and it solved the problem.

Phone Calls From Apple

Over the past few days, I have gotten phone calls supposedly from Apple 
care. The calleer gives her nane and says that she is calling from Apple.

Now, to my knowledge, Apple does not make uninvited calls to their 
customers. I just wanted to find out if anyone has gotten these calls.

it. I usually keep it in Headings, but I have found it moving sommewher

Qardio Arm Help

I have a brand new Quardio Arm and the AP is on my phone. I have reviewed 
the directionsHowever, I am not sure how to place the Quardio Arm. The 
directions only say to use the logo as a guide. Since I am totally blind, 
that is not going to work. Can someone who uses it give me some guidence? 
Which way is the correct way. Should the Battery cover be at the rear of 
the unit or is that the front of the unit. Their customer support was no 
help in this matter. They directed me to the U-Tube instructions. That's a 
non starter.

Iphone On Airline

My wife and I are going to be flying to Orlando in a couple of weeks. We 
will be taking our Iphones with us
I plan to read during the flight)Audible(. 
 
Can I use my Aftershocks blues on the plane, or would I be better using 
standard headphones? Are there other  things that I should be aware of?

bBattery Drain Issue

I have noticed that my battery usage has increased after updating to IOS 
13. One of the things that has been happening is when I finished with the 
phone and just put it down the screen lock does not always take affect. I 
have walked away and come back 10 minutes later and the phone is still in 
the ap that I was previously using.  

I have my screen lock time at 2 minutes. and have changed it to 30 seconds 
only to have it lock in the middle of a U tube video. 

Any ideas about this?

Headers In Folders

recently, I changed the header in one of my folders. Now the change shows 
up in other holder heading. I tried to change the heading, but it kept 
putting me in the folder title. There was a way to edit the folder headings 
without changing the folder name itself. Can anyone help me with this?
